Lakeland District Board of Directors
The Lakeland District for Sport, Culture and Recreation is a volunteer based non-profit organization. The Board of Directors are responsible for developing the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization. They set the policies and procedures that govern the organization and develop the strategic plan that guides the Lakeland District in what we do.

Our Board members also play a significant role in providing guidance to the LDSCR staff by contributing to our culture, strategic focus, effectiveness, and financial sustainability, as well as serving as ambassadors and advocates for sport, culture and recreation.

Volunteers are one of our most valuable assets and we would like to thank the LDSCR Board of Directors for their continued involvement, dedication and support.

Congratulations to the Lakeland District Communities that participated in the 2021 Communities in Bloom program.

Communities in Bloom (CiB) is a provincial program and national organization that recognizes community participation in projects involving community enhancement, beautification, heritage and environmental awareness. Participants are evaluated on the quality of the municipality's green spaces, dedication to quality of living, general appearance, environmental awareness, heritage and the level of community involvement.

This year Candle Lake was the CiB Special Recognition Award Winner in the Environmental Action category for the development of a comprehensive recycling program.

Gail Haight of Candle Lake took home third place in the "Take a Shot!” photo contest.

Special recognition is also given to the City of Melfort who represented Saskatchewan in the 2021 National Communities in Bloom Edition.
