Joint Presentation to Feature Michel Book
OLLI is co-sponsoring a joint presentation from the Dirksen Congressional Center and the Institute for Principled Leadership in Public Service at Bradley University.
Enjoy this free presentation on the newly published Robert H. Michel - Leading the Republican House Minority, by the book's co-editor's Frank H. Mackaman and Sean Q. Kelly.
The presentation will be moderated by Chris Kaergard of the
Peoria Journal Star
and the event will be covered nationally by C-Span as a part of its BookTV series.

Bradley University, Hayden - Clark Alumni Center's Peplow Pavilion
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
While supplies last, attendees will receive free copies of the Michel book and Ray LaHood's "Seeking Bipartisanship: My Life in Politics".

Greg Batton to Emcee OLLI's 25th Anniversary Gala
Greg Batton, a Peoria Pekin, and OLLI favorite, will be our MC and speaker at the OLLI 25th anniversary gala.
The gala will be a casual, fun party celebrating our 25 years of lifelong learning at Bradley.
Greg will keep the evening full of laughs, so don't wait to register for this October 30 event.

Homecoming Events open to the Community
Here, at Bradley University, we celebrate fall with our annual Homecoming festivities. This year, we have a variety of traditional events but also some new activities up our sleeves. Homecoming on the Hilltop is not just for students either. We want to extend an invite to the entire community to celebrate with us. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun on the Hilltop. Friday, October 4
Lighting of the B, 7 - 9 p.m. (B is lit around 8:30 p.m.)
This is one of the main highlights of Homecoming Week. Join students, friends, family, and alumni as we light the B on top of Bradley Hall with a short fireworks display to follow. There will be carnival games, food, giveaways, and more!

Homecoming Parade, Noon - 1 p.m.
New to Homecoming Week this year is the Bradley Homecoming Parade! After a short hiatus, we are bringing the parade back to celebrate Bradley and our community. There will be student groups to high five, decorative floats to see, and much more.

Big Picture Festival

Changing the Face of Peoria
October 12, 10 a.m - 4 p.m.
What's happening at Big Picture 2019? Two blocks of fascination are coming soon to the Peoria Warehouse District. As Big Picture Peoria's Festival heads into the second year, they've got a return of favorites from last year-plus MORE community art.
The festival will feature dance, chalk art competition, molten iron pour by Black Dog Metal Art, found objects costume parade and competition, community paint-by-number mural painting, 100 drums drumming circle, open mic competition, music, performance, paint fling onto a vehicle, food & beer trucks, Little Big Picture Student Teams Invitational Challenge, selfie spots, Abbie Road Poser Place, Take-Home-A-Piece graffiti wall, watch the paint dry on Andre Petty's 20' x 10' portrait painting of Richard Pryor and more!
OLLI members won't want to miss this year's community mural! Bradley University art professor Heather Brammeier will be leading a community mural painting. Come by the festival on October 12th to paint inside the large blue sections of Heather's mural!

The Big Table Greater Peoria
The Big Table is a day of regional community building trough conversations designed to strengthen and connect communities. Through open, thoughtful conversations that focus on how we can strengthen our region, we will spark new relationships and new ways for working together by deepening our understanding of each other and what our region needs.
Each session will be 1.5 hours in length, and you can select your sessions or attend them all.
All are welcome: The event is FREE but you must register in advance.

Peoria Public Library and Peoria County Genealogical Society will co-host a day of free workshops - beginner to advanced -- to help you trace your family tree.
Stay for one workshop or spend the day with us.
Candace Marx, a certified genealogical researcher with the Illinois State Genealogical Society, will discuss resources for Illinois research. Other topics include: How to use DNA to build your family tree, how to use Ellis Island manifests and how to access recently digitized Peoria County vital records online.
Free and open to the public.
