Our food service function, including food preparation, layout, distribution and menu selection, will be redesigned both to meet the associated health guidelines and continue to provide high quality/healthy food options for our students. Physical (plexiglass) barriers are being installed in areas such as at kitchen registers.
Physical distancing markers will be added to assist students in lining up. The serving lines and entrance and exit routes will be changed so as not to cross. In addition, "stand here" floor decals have also been placed in the microwave and dining express areas.
Meals will be served on disposable trays with disposable utensils for students. All cafeteria personnel will wear face coverings and gloves. There will no longer be an open salad bar buffet; however, pre-made salads will be available for purchase.
We have posted occupancy limits to tables in the Student Center. Outdoor seating (safely distanced) will also be available to our students. Both internal and external seating areas will be monitored with teacher/administrator supervision.
We continue to explore options that will allow appropriate physical distancing of students during lunch periods including use of other facilities (e.g., gyms, classrooms, etc.) as well as outdoor eating areas.
