New Remote Meeting Security Protocols |
|
A recent online meeting security breach has resulted in the need to enhance Village meeting protocols.
To further increase security, protect our time and ensure our meetings can remain open to the public, Amberley Village will now require that all participants register for meetings prior to logging in. The registration process takes just a couple of seconds the first time you use it, and will AutoFill for subsequent meetings.
Once registered, an email confirmation of your registration will be sent along with a password to sign in. This process will ensure the Village has information about who has registered.
It is recommended that attendees plan to register in advance and to login to our meetings a few minutes early until familiarized with the new process. We regret the need for these extra measures, but preserving the security and integrity of Village business is paramount.

Trick or Treat in Amberley Village |

Amberley Village will continue its annual tradition of hosting Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 31 from 6 - 8 pm. Hamilton County Public Health’s advice and guidelines as well as best practices from the Ohio Department of Health are being provided below, as the Village strongly encourages residents to follow Governor Mike DeWine’s and the Ohio Department of Health’s recommendations on how to celebrate Halloween responsibly to keep your family, friends and neighbors healthy.

Invisible but Dangerous
Cooler weather will be here soon. Amberley Village Fire Department encourages everyone to have carbon monoxide producing devices such as furnaces, water heaters, and fireplaces inspected by a professional before the heating season begins.
It's always a good idea to install and maintain carbon monoxide detectors on each level of your home.

Reminder: Public Hearing on Amberley Green
Zoning Code Text to Be Held on October 12, 2020

Amberley Village Council will hold a first reading of proposed zoning text changes for Amberley Green at its September 14 council meeting. Then, in a public hearing on October 12, 2020, Council will receive public feedback regarding Amberley Green zoning code text.
Residents are invited to attend in person or online on Monday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m. Details will be available on the Village website calendar.

Amberley Village Police Turns Traffic Stop into Positive Interaction |
|
Officer Andrea Alt recently shared a positive experience she had while pulling over a motorist for a routine traffic violation. After a positive exchange with the motorist, Officer Alt says the woman asked if she could hug her and have her picture taken with her. She then thanked both Officer Alt and Sergeant Schmidtgoessling for being so friendly! |

October kicked off a couple of wonderful commemorations, with the dedication of a park bench and the return of AVPD's pink badges. On October 1, Mayor Muething and Councilmembers Wolf and Conway joined celebrating a bench dedication honoring Rabbi Isaac Jeruzalmi, PhD by his widow, Nimet. The bench also served as a kickoff to Amberley Village's new Tree + Bench Donation Program (see below for more information).
In addition, as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Amberley Village Police Department upholds its tradition of wearing pink badges through October. Above left, Officers Koenig and Monahan flank Nimet Jeruzalmi in their pink badges at the recent bench dedication ceremony honoring her late husband.

Brush & Leaf Collection Services Reminder |
|
Many residents are accustomed to having brush picked up on a specific day of the week. However, in an effort to increase efficiency, Amberley Village Maintenance Department will now pick up brush on a rotation designed to provide service to each house once per week.
In addition, Leaf Collection will begin on October 19 and run through December 31. Like last year, our Brush LIte service will continue through leaf season with intermittent, unscheduled pickups as the Maintenance Department is able.
The brush and leaves that the Village collects go to our Class IV composting facility rather than in a landfill. Chipped brush is used to fulfill resident requests for wood chips. These efforts contribute to the Village's overall commitment to recycling and responsible land use.
Please take a moment to review the proper ways to set out your leaves and brush to ensure the most efficient pickup. We're committed to serving all Amberley residents in a timely manner, so please respect your neighbors and do your part!

Team Creed T-Shirts Now Available! |

Our K9 unit was established in 2016 with its first K9, Creed. As a dual purpose K9, Creed is certified in narcotic detection and patrol operations (human odor detection, handler protection). K9 Creed is originally from Europe and responds to commands in Dutch, German and English. K9 Creed and Officer Alt are both state and nationally certified as a K9 team. K9 Creed not only assists Amberley in the deterrent and arrests of drug and theft related crimes, but also aids several agencies in Hamilton and Clermont counties.
Since Creed’s date of service, he has assisted in locating 24 people (two of whom were reported as critical missing, and 22 who were serious criminal offenders). Creed has assisted in the recovery of over 6,150 grams (roughly 14lbs) of illegal narcotics, 125 items of drug paraphernalia and 5 illegal hand guns.
Funds raised for the K9 unit will go towards training, everyday equipment (collars, leashes, harnesses, food supplies, kennel equipment, Cruiser equipment), K9 safety/protection equipment, handler protection equipment, and unexpected expenses such as emergency vet visits and procedures.
These shirts were created by the K9 unit and handler to support the K9 unit and to continue keeping it operating efficiently.
