Aggie Homecoming 2021: October 4th-9th
Homecoming Week is here! Below are a number of reminders pertaining to our celebration of Aggie Homecoming Week 2021:

Alumni Memorial Mass & Brunch: Thursday, Oct. 7

All are welcome to attend the Alumni Memorial Mass in memory of our deceased classmates, teachers and benefactors. Mass is at 9:35AM in the upper church. A complimentary brunch for alumni, former faculty, and religious will follow. Please contact Alumni Director Mrs. Kate Boyle if you'd like to attend the brunch at 651-925-8880.

Tailgate Tent: Friday, Oct. 8

All Saint Agnes families, alumni, and friends are invited to a free tailgate BBQ, beginning at 5:30 PM, before Friday night's football game at Hamline's Klas Field. We serve nearly 1000 hot dogs and cheese quesadillas, and we are still in need of a few more volunteers to help before the game at the entrance gate and apparel table, as well as with clean-up. Many hands make light work, so please consider lending a hand.

Stanford 10 (SAT10) Results – Spring 2021
Parents of returning students in current grades 1-9:
This week you will receive SAT10 testing results from May of 2021 (if your son or daughter was enrolled at Saint Agnes). You will also receive a cover letter that helps explain how to understand and interpret the results.

Our school’s performance: I am pleased to report that each of the grades, K-8, that participated in the SAT10 exam last spring performed above average among competitive private schools this past year in the core areas of Total Reading and Total Math. By 4th grade our students begin to perform well above average, posting some impressive scores close to the 80th percentile (meaning that most students in the grade are scoring well above average and even at the 80th percentile or higher).

A special thanks to John and Marie Ernster for their many years of service to the food pantry! John and Marie have retired from this service and we ask for your prayers in honor of their many years of service to Saint Agnes parish and school. We would like to offer the Ernster’s a spiritual bouquet to express our gratitude: if you’d like to contribute prayers for the Ernster’s, please contact Mr. Michael Adkins.

FAFSA – Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Are you thinking about college or life after high school, but you're unsure of how to pay for it? The process can feel intimating, but you’re not alone! FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opened on October 1st

The first step is filling out your form. Colleges use FAFSA data to determine your federal aid eligibility, so it's important to consider filling out the form before each year of college. The sooner the better, as some programs allocate money on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit https://www.studentaid.gov

Lower School Prayer Group Forming
The Lower School is starting a prayer group, the Militia Immaculata, for grades 4-6! The Militia Immaculata was founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe in 1917. Our group will focus on growing in prayer and being a witness and friend to younger students, helping them know and live closely with God. The group will meet twice a month and is led by Sr. Mary Consolata, 4th grade teacher, and Mr. Joseph Hermerding, a school parent.
Highlights of the Week
At the Lower School Virtue Assembly last week, the Sixth Graders presented on the virtue of Faith. Many students shared witnesses and testimonies about ways in which their faith has impacted their life, including through poetry and song. Each grade will have the opportunity to present on a virtue over the course of the year.
Thanks to Mrs. Caileen Yost for her volunteer work!
3rd Grade had an awesome cruise down the Mississippi River!
Ms. Erickson held an art contest for drawing Columbus’ ships. Here are a couple of the best.
