INTERIM MINISTRY AT ST JOHN'S
|
|
|
TWO WONDERFUL CLERGY!
From August 1st through September 13th, The Reverend Canon Rob Heard will be providing pastoral coverage and recording weekly video messages with Gordon. Some of you will remember Rob from his time as Interim Priest-in-Charge before Beth arrived.
From September 14th until such time as a new Incumbent is appointed, The Venerable Pat Johnston will serve as the Interim Priest-in-Charge. Over 35 years ago, Pat started ministry as a Curate at St John's, and she has lots of good memories of her time here. She is looking forward to being with you!

BIDDING FAREWELL TO BETH+
|
|
Beth+ will be leaving St John's to become the Dean of Ottawa and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral as of September 1st. Her last day in the parish will be July 30th, as she will take vacation in August.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and our churches still being in the "red" zone (please see our Diocesan pandemic plan "In This Together" for details), we will be unable to farewell Beth in person. However, please sign the virtual card!
Beth would prefer not to receive a purse of money, but she has suggested two ways in which you are welcome to celebrate her ministry among us - by donating to the Ottawa Pastoral Counselling Centre and/or contributing to the gift of a cope. Please see below for more info, and
please sign the card, donate or contribute by July 30th.
If you require any further information, please be in touch with one of the Wardens,
Detlef or
Stephen.

One of our Diocesan Community Ministries, OPC offers counselling and psychotherapy services for individuals, couples and families. The Counselling Support Fund supports those in our community impacted by mental health issues who come without the financial resources to access mental healthcare.

There are many special services at the Cathedral, and as Dean, Beth will require a special processional vestment known as a cope. She has chosen this one from Bramante Studio in Kitchener. It will be known as the "St John's Cope" and Beth will think of us with great joy and thanksgiving each time she wears it!

SERVICE OF PRAYER
FOR HEALING
Anytime, Online
In this challenging time our Cathedral offers a
prayer service for healing and comfort. Often during a healing service, when we are gathered together, we are able to offer and experience the sacrament of holy anointing with oil. However as we are unable to do so at this time, you are encouraged to light a candle at the beginning of this service.

RESOURCES
FOR HOME PRAYER
