Century of Care Fair

Ontario Shores is proud to host its  'Century of Care Fair' on Saturday, September 21 as we celebrate 100 years of providing mental health care in our community.

Employees, patients, families, volunteers and the community are welcome to visit Ontario Shores for a family friendly carnival-style event on our grounds as we approach October 23, the day our hospital officially turns 100.

The day will feature a BBQ lunch along with bouncy castles, games,
face painting, entertainment and much more.  Lunch served from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

Informed Caregiver CBT-p Training:
2-Day Workshop for Family Caregivers

Saturday, September 28 - Sunday September 29, 2019
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This 2-day workshop will offer Caregivers practical tools and strategies to reduce their feelings of anxiety and depression, and to build a greater resiliency.  Caregivers will learn about key caring principles, how to normalize their loved one's symptoms, different styles of coping and how to spot Red Flags in your loved one's behaviour that might indicate the illness is getting worse. 

Dr. Turkington is a Professor of Psychosocial Psychiatry at Newcastle University the United Kingdom. He is also a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy based at Philadelphia, USA
