Shout out to Burlingame High School graduate Courtney Rosales! She was recently recognized as a Home Plate Honoree at a San Francisco Giants game for her outstanding volunteerism. The award was presented by  Multiplying Good, and BHS Principal Paul Belzer was on hand for the recognition.

Courtney was nominated by her BHS Service Learning Liasion Carrie Herrman and this is what she had to say about Courtney:

"In addition to being an exceptional student, Courtney has actively contributed her time and talents to the school and community through her work as a drama crew member (4 years), Class Coordinator (3 years), Peer Tutor (1 year) and many service activities. Courtney and a friend organized the Burlingame branch of  Ray United FC/Uganda United Club dedicated to bettering the lives and education of children in Uganda who are personally affected by HIV and AIDS.

Courtney volunteers in multiple organizations in the community including  Samaritan House, Village Park Preschool, and  TALK Peninsula (Teaching and Assessing Language for Kids). She currently supports preschool students with activities, learning and play. Courtney helps create enrichment tools for students, organizes teaching materials, and assists the speech pathologists. This year, the Multiplying Good team initiated our first school-wide initiatives and asked our Service Club leaders to assist with these service projects. Courtney actively participated in our newly-established Service Club Advisory Council, promoted the clothing and book drives, donated personally, and helped with the counting/collection of all donations."
