Cross Country Runs at Fountain Hills Invite, Whitehead PR's
The boys and girls HS Cross Country teams ran in the Fountain Hills Invite over the weekend, and represented very well! Senior Adam Whitehead PR'd with an impressive 15:40 finish, good enough for 4th place. Wes Lannuier (8th, 18:02) and Helaman Forsyth (26th, 19:07) earned medals in the JR/SR open race. Daniela Iniguez was the top female finisher, placing 22nd with a 24:20 in the girls open race.

Arete Hosts First GHMSL Cross Country Meet of 2019
Arete hosted a successful MS XC meet, the first of the season, at Freestone Park in Gilbert. Thanks to Coach Darryn Rozas and all of our volunteers for making it a great race for all.
The top male finisher for the Chargers was 7th grader Max Bruns, who came in 19th with an 11:58 time over the 1.8 mile course. The top female finisher was 7th grader Jennie Knotts, who placed 21st with a 13:51. As a team, the boys finished 7th out of 12, and girls were 7th out of 9 teams.

Faith Youkhana- Varsity Volleyball
This week's Charger of the Week goes to Faith Youkhana. Not only did she show exceptional performance this week, but she showed her team why she is captain. She rallied her teammates together when they were down and stepped up for us when we needed a crucial point. She showed us all this week how much she cares about her team's success and showed she wants to see herself and her teammates continue to improve. Congratulations Faith!

Visit East Valley Sports to Order Your Varsity Jacket!
You may now visit East Valley Sports (6306 East Main Street, Mesa, 85205) to inquire about ordering an Arete Prep Varsity Jacket. We have redesigned the Varsity Letter that was distributed at Fall Sports Awards. IF YOU ARE ORDERING A JACKET, please contact Coach Conklin to receive the new letter. Please keep in mind that jackets take 7-8 weeks for production. We are very excited to see school pride represented in Varsity Jackets around campus! Jackets are dress code approved but may only be worn by the owner.

REGISTRATION FOR A SPORT
2. Every athlete must submit a physical on the approved AIA Physical Forms. Physicals are good for 12 months and must be resubmitted annually.
3. Submit the athletic fee. All middle school sports (including archery) are $250. All high school sports are $290. Select Online Payment to pay by debit/credit card online, or you may submit cash, check, or money to the front office.
4. (HS ONLY) If not previously completed, every high school athlete must complete the Brainbook Concussion Course. The AIA will notify Arete electronically once the student has successfully completed the course. High school athletes are required to complete this course only once during their high school career.
All items must be completed and turned in before your student may participate in their sport.
