Preparing to bring home a baby is one of the most exciting times for new parents. What rarely crosses their minds is the inconceivable thought they may never come home with their baby.
"Our job is to offer as much comfort and care as possible during this horrible time," says
Patricia Wlodek, Clinical Nurse Educator in the Maternal Newborn Program and perinatal bereavement team lead. "Parents are in shock, grief stricken and overwhelmed and we are here to support them as much as possible and get them ready to go home."
