Bob Petrucelli Keynotes Opioid Discussion at DC Chapter Leadership Meeting

AGC MA CEO Bob Petrucelli will be leading a discussion on Chapter Best Practices at the annual Chapter Leadership Conference in Washington DC on September 23, 2019. AGC MA has received national attention for its role in advancing industry awareness over the past year concerning the Opioid epidemic within the commercial construction industry and has been asked to highlight the outreach efforts and recent accomplishments.

In 2019 AGC MA:

Hosted a major construction industry Opioid Awareness Summit in January.

Organized an industry meeting with state Secretary of HHS, Mary Lou Sudders in February

Launched a first in the nation "Opioid Stand Down Day in June

Petrucelli will be leading the panel with the AGC of Washington State CEO and the National Building Trades Council Director of Safety, and will share best practices with other AGC Chapter elected leaders and key staff on how to assist member firms get help for their employees.

Two major lessons learned from
AGC MA efforts is

1.) Start with a strong Safety Plan to reduce unsafe job site conditions and practices to prevent unnecessary injuries and

2.) The need to de-stigmatize the scourge of addiction so impacted employees can get the help they deserve.
