Go to Kroger Community Rewards and (create an account if you don't yet have one) and search for "XL230" or "Druid Hills High School". DHHS will get a donation every time you shop at Kroger using your card or phone number!

Help Emory U Develop Heart & Mind Curriculum
Are you interested in taking care of yourself and others and making the world a better, more just place?

Help SEE Learning, a free K-12 social, emotional & ethical education program developed for international use, is the culmination of an academic collaboration that began in 1998 between Emory University and the Dalai Lama to refine their high school curriculum content. Here's what is covered in it: Creating Compassionate Learning Environment; Building Resilience; Strengthening Attention & Self-Awareness; Navigating Emotions; Self-Compassion; Compassion & Other Ethical Values; Learning about and from One Another; Systems Thinking; Building a Better World (team project).

Because of the pandemic, they have had very little opportunity to work directly with high school students and they would love to work with some teenagers in a virtual group setting to see what they think.

If you chose to join, you will be participating activities and reflective practices from the curriculum in addition to reading lessons and providing verbal and/or written feedback on them. Your commitment would be approximately 6 hours per month and earns community service hours! CLICK HERE TO JOIN!

Perspectives is offering a free virtual group developed to support high school seniors who may be having difficulties dealing with life’s situations, especially new stressors arising due to the pandemic. Yeah, we sang "High School Musical" in our heads too. If you'd prefer email, parents, students, and members of our community can all be a part of the yearbook this year by emailing us photos too!

Georgia's two Senatorial seats are still undecided and both will likely go to a special run-off election on January 5, 2021.

ANYONE WHO WILL BE 18 YEARS OLD ON JANUARY 5, 2021 IS ELLEGIBLE TO VOTE
IN THIS HISTORIC ELECTION.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO REGISTER TO VOTE & TO BECOME INFORMED ABOUT THE FOUR CANDIDATES WHO WANT TO REPRESENT YOU AS GEORGIA'S TWO SENATORS IN WASHINGTON DC.

Here are two EXCELLENT non-partisan resources to learn more about the GA election process, help you make your election plan, and become informed ahead of the runoff election:

And some important deadlines to be aware of:
  • November 18, 2020 (Wednesday): First date for an absentee ballot to be mailed by registrar—you must make a separate absentee ballot request for the runoff, even if you received one for the November election. Ballots must be received by Election Day.
  • December 7, 2020 (Monday): Last date to register—if you’ll be 18 by Jan 5 you can register.
  • December 14, 2020 (Monday): In-person early voting begins. Early voting will likely end Thursday December 31st.
  • January 5, 2021 (Tuesday): 7 am to 7 pm--Runoff election date.

Druid Hills Athletic Association depends on the generosity of our community to fund grant requests from coaches at DHHS and DHMS. A few teams submitted particular needs, if your team is not listed PLEASE donate to the DHAA fund. DHAA is a non-profit and any donations should be considered 100% tax-deductible.
