Are you feeling overwhelmed? Is your “to do” list out of control? Do you feel like you’re working and running as fast as possible but, it’s just not enough? I hear you.
Expectations are high and need to be fulfilled. Work is one thing and then there’s the little thing called life just waiting for you. Get out and breath the fresh air, rejoice in the moment and be happy. Ok, but who’s taking the dog to the vet, running the kids to practice, paying the bills and planning holiday travel? Sometime all one needs is the sanity of going to work. Running your life is a full-time job!
Maybe it’s time to take a deep breath, turn off the news, open the windows and put away the phone. Unplug.
We’ve just experienced 18 months of uncertainty. Nothing is normal but, it’s starting to feel like we’re getting there. Is it time to relax and count your blessings? No time you say. The sobering reminder of the fragility of life was never more poignant than this last weekend as I watched the 9/11 20-year anniversary specials airing on almost every network. The recounting of the day when lives were changed forever, and 2,977 souls were lost had me glued to the TV. The stories of courage, love, patriotism, and heroism compel one to never forget.
The Chamber is busy planning our first “big” outdoor event --- the annual
Fall Grand Avenue Festival this October 17
th. Please mark your calendars and plan on attending. Details can be found at the Chambers website.
And speaking of attending, consider this your formal invite to join the Chamber next week as we celebrate the opening of
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers on West Valley Parkway. Join the Chamber, the Mayor, and the full complement of City Council members as we welcome this new addition to our Escondido business community.
Please remember how important it is to shop local. Local business needs your support. Local business is the backbone of our business community. Need help identifying who is really local? The Chamber is working on simplifying this for you. Stay tuned.
Together we are stronger, together we can achieve powerful things, together we are never alone. This is a great country built on diversity and hard work held together by our shared humanity.
God bless the United States of America.
Cheers,
James Rowten (JR)
