ECC Families,

Good evening. It's been a beautiful weekend so far. Looks like it is going to continue to be unseasonably warm this coming week. This week Sandy Braun will be here to take student and class pictures. The schedule for the classes can be found below. Please make sure to let your child's teacher know if you would like sibling pictures and if they are on different days which day to take their pictures. Also going home this week is the permission slip for your child to attend our field trip to Faulkner's Farm in October. Our Spanish instructor is feeling better and classes will start this week. Please keep one of our teachers, Ms. Ashley and her daughter Stella in your prayers this coming week as they travel to Houston to visit with doctors at MD Anderson to figure out next steps in Stella's cancer battle. I will be out of the office on Friday to spend time with my daughter and take her to the airport for her trip back to India where she will be working to coordinate another surgical camp. Many teachers are still in need of a room parent to help plan their classroom parties if you are interested please contact your child's teacher. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. GO CHIEFS!

God Bless,

Catherine M. Koob

Fall School Pictures
Every year we offer two opportunities for you to have your child's picture taken. In the fall Sandy Braun of Sandy Braun Photography takes wonderful and unique school photos of your child and their class. This year Sandy will be at Presentation ECC the week of 9/16. Below you will find a link with information on when your child's class will take their individual pictures. Each class will typically take a class photo after their individual pictures are complete. For the two year old classes who have students who attend on both M/W/F or T/TH if your child's picture day is not on a day they normally attend they will take their individual picture on one of the days they attend with another class. Their teacher will coordinate a class picture on that day as well. If you would like siblings to take pictures together you must let their teachers know and on which siblings day you want the pictures taken so their teachers can coordinate. If you have any questions please let us know. Information about ordering will go out after pictures have been taken.

Classroom Volunteers
Each classroom is looking for a family member who would like to volunteer to be a lead room parent. We have two classroom parties during the school year, Halloween and Valentine's Day. It is extremely helpful to the teacher if there is a parent or family member who is willing to plan, organize and be the contact person for the classroom for these events. Usually it is best to just have one or two people as the leads and then they can ask for help from additional volunteers. Of course family members are also welcome to attend the parties as well. If you are willing to be a lead room parent please email your child's teacher by October 1st so they know who they are going to be working with and who to refer parent questions to regarding the parties. Even though the two classroom parties are the main events we need volunteers for please don't be discouraged if you are unable to volunteer for these events just contact your child's teacher to let them know you are interested in helping out and they will let you know what volunteer opportunities are available in their classroom.

Diocesan Family Income Survey
Families please take the time to fill out the information in the link below for the Diocese. This information is confidential and is used to determine diocese allocations for the schools in regards to special services and and compiling data for use in grant applications.

Parking Lot Safety
We have seen more and more students running out of the front or side doors ahead of their parents or being allowed to run on the sidewalks near the parking lot. This is a safety concern for your child and for the families pulling in and out of parking spaces. Please make sure you are keeping your children with you at all times and feel free to ask the office staff for help out to your vehicle if you need assistance.
Faulkner's Scarecrow comes to the ECC 10/7
Since our toddler, two's and early 3's classes do not go to Faulkner's we bring the pumpkin patch here! On Monday, October 7th our little guys will enjoy a story read to them by Nona the Scarecrow and then go outside to the OLP pumpkin patch to pick their very own pumpkin! Below you will find a link to a flyer about the event and the times each class will attend.

Faulkner's Ranch Field Trip 10/8, 10/9 & 10/10
Our first of two field trips for the year will take place at Faulkner's Ranch in October. Below you will find a information sheet to let you know when your child's class will be attending. The dates are set and the buses will be leaving no later than 8:45 AM on each day. The farm tours will begin at 9:15 AM and last one hour. The classes will have time to explore and play before eating lunch. Each class will have time for their students to pick a pumpkin from the patch before heading back to the preschool at 12:00 PM. The family attendance form is linked below and allows us to gather attendance and who will be riding the bus. This link will take you to the current family secure web page of our website. The password is Famil$Ec$ (it is case sensitive). Please fill this form out for each of your students.

Activity Fee Classes
In addition to field trips, special events, and curriculum support the annual activity fee helps partially cover the cost of regular classes for each age group. Our toddlers and twos classes participate in a twice monthly Stretch-n-Grow class and our preschool and pre-k classes enjoy weekly Spanish classes. More information can be found below. We also have monthly rotating age group visits from the "Library Guy".

Extracurricular Activities
Our Shining Star demo days are coming up soon. Your child will participate in a shining star class on either Monday, September 9 or Tuesday, September 10. These classes take place in the afternoon usually beginning around 3pm. Happy Feet demo days will be Wednesday, September 4 and Thursday, September 5. These classes are also in the afternoon.

Trunk or Treat at OLP
Every year the 8th grade class of OLP sponsors a family fun Trunk or Treat event in the north parking lot of OLP. This year the event will be held on Friday, October 18th (rainout date Oct. 25th) from 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM. This is such a fun event! I encourage all families to attend if you can. All my children have attended OLP and I think this will be my 18th Trunk or Treat! It is great to have a safe fun alternative for Halloween! Below you will find a FAQ sheet and a flyer about Trunk or Treat
t-shirt purchases. T-shirts can be ordered online at the link below. The deadline to purchase a t-shirt is WEDNESDAY! If you have questions let us know and we will put you in contact with the right people.
