Welcome August!

Newport has been busy the last few weeks with visitors from out of town!  I hope all have been able to capture as much profit as you safely can during what is normally our peak season.

We have just started our new fiscal year here at the Chamber and even though our staff is all still working part-time, they have been working very hard on ideas for this coming year.  I love seeing how they are going outside the box to make things work and keep our community safe.

I would also like to thank Lincoln County for allowing us funding in exchange for our office putting together and making sure businesses received facial masks and some shields. We have given out around 13,000 masks and 300 shields. I do still have a few of the masks available if you did not receive any.

Our new Board of Directors will be having their first meeting this month and I look forward to seeing all the new faces we have this year.  The Chamber is still doing the meeting via zoom.

I know Zoom is a challenge for some and we miss those unable to join us on Chamber activities.
Save the date, September 10, 2020, as we will be holding a County Commissioner Candidate forum with Commissioner Claire Hall and Joe Hitselberger.

Have a great rest of your summer!
