Parent Link: Empowering Parents to Build Christian Families
September 19, 2019
Prayer for the Care of Children

Almighty God, heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and care of children: Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we bring them up, that we may teach them to love whatever is just and true and good, following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen ( BCP #46, p. 829)

Faithful Generations Adult Sunday School Class

All interested adults are invited to join this class which meets on Sundays in the library from 10:30 - 11:00 am . This is a group of parents, grandparents and interested adults finding community and supporting the faithful growth of our families. This year we will be reading  The Road Back to You  by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile. This book provides a nice introduction to the Enneagram which can help all adults understand themselves better in all relationships, especially those revolving around the family. Feel free to come even if you don’t have or haven’t read the book. We will discuss challenges and successes in raising families in faith.
CSMSG GRANDPARENTS OF PARENT LINK
The Grandparent Link met on September 15 to say our prayers for our grandchildren and our families. Stories of summertime adventures with our grandchildren were shared, and stories of sending grandchildren off to college were told. We wish Charlotte Lanham safe travels as she returns to Australia to visit a school she and her husband started many years ago!
All were encouraged to attend the Parent Link Kickoff THIS SUNDAY, September 22nd at 6:30 pm in the Great Hall. Brian Kuhn will discuss family relationships within the context of the Enneagram.
The next meeting of the Grandparent Link will be on Sunday, October 20 at 11:00 am in the Wydown Meeting Room. For more information please contact Pam Koprowski, Barb Smith, Tim Smith or Bruce Springer.

Monday Morning Women's Bible Study
The Way of Love
Bishop Michael Curry

All women are invited to join the Monday Morning Women's Bible Study which is studying The Way of Love series which will include podcasts from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry.  The Way of Love is a way of life. More than a program, it is a return to the ancient pathways and Rules of Life that followers of Jesus have observed for centuries. The deep roots of the Christian tradition offer a spiritual path toward deeper relationship with God, neighbor, and self. For centuries, monastic communities have shaped their lives around rhythms and disciplines for following Jesus together. Such a pattern is known as a “rule of life.”

When we commit to turn, learn, pray, worship, bless, go, and rest, we are engaging in and growing a rule of life. We will begin each Bible Study with a podcast from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, as he teaches us how we can use The Way of Love to train up our spirits, just like athletes train their bodies. Please join us for this 9 week series! For more information on The Way of Love , click HERE .
