The Maple Road Reconstruction Project is now 2/3 complete and moving along on schedule. Work highlights from the past week included:
- Continuing to lay structural soil for planters and continuing electrical and irrigation work between North Old Woodward and Woodward.
- Installing a new mast arm and pedestrian signals at the Maple and Park intersection.
- Preparing to pour concrete between Pierce and Chester by making the final subgrade cuts and laying aggregate stone.
- Continuing the fiber conduit installation between Pierce and Chester.
Next week, crews are expected to form and pour planter boxes and continue electrical and irrigation work between Woodward and Old Woodward. Crews will complete the fiber conduit installation, make the final subgrade cut for the road, and lay aggregate stone between Pierce and Chester. Crews expect to pour concrete for parking and driving lanes between Pierce and Chester.
The Southfield and Maple intersection will be closed next week to begin demolition to reconfigure the intersection. Southfield will be closed between Martin and Maple for 3-4 weeks. During the closure, please use the Phase 2 detour pictured below.
