We have two events this week, our monthly luncheon on Wednesday, and the annual Hog Roast and Auction on Thursday.

Deb and Denny Wilkinson are organizing the Hog Roast and sent this note:

Hello Everyone

Just a reminder this coming Thursday Sept 12, 2019 is our annual Republican Hog Roast at the Junior Fair Building at the County Fairgrounds, Hopewell Ave., Tiffin. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and we will start at 6:00 p.m. It is potluck style. You can bring a hot or cold dish or your favorite desert to share.

The cost is $10.00 per person. We will furnish the meat, tableware and drinks.  Deb and I will furnish the scalloped potatoes.

We are also looking for a few more items for the live auction.

Just to name a few things we have a gift basket donated by Reineke Family Dealership.
Bill and Janet Frankart and Family are donating 2 1/2 hogs cut, wrapped and frozen. What a great deal
Deb Hay and family a gift basket worth $60.00
Jim Cline has donated various bottles of liquor.
Mike Bridinger Tiffin Glass Ware
I know I probably missed some people on donations, but bring your item that night and we will make sure you get recognized for donating it.

I want to thank Becky Orians, Kathy Yost and Vanessa Treft for handling the table decorations. It's great when everybody pitches in.

So come on out and enjoy the meal and bid on a few items.

See you Thursday night Sept 12.

Deb and Denny Wilkinson
Chairpersons.
Wednesday luncheon
Wednesday is our monthly luncheon. Join us September 11 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in the back room at Fort Ball Pizza, 91 North Washington St., Tiffin. You can come and go as your schedule permits. All candidates and officeholders will have the opportunity to speak briefly. It's only $5.99 plus beverage, tax, and tip for all you can eat pizza, pasta, and salad bar. Everyone is welcome to join us.
next month and last month
Mark your calendar for the October 9 luncheon. We will be joined by Ohio Supreme Court Justice Sharon Kennedy. Earlier in the day, she will be speaking to students at Seneca East High School. Senior Eli Heal and Republican Central Committee member Suzie Platt are setting up that non-partisan educational event. Justice Kennedy is running for re-election in 2020, so please join us October 9.

Thanks to Brian Courtney for hosting last month's luncheon. I was in a Turkestan yurt in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan. I know it looks like random letters, but it's a real place. It's between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. It was $7 a night, including breakfast cooked to order. The answer to your question is south of Russia, west of China, north of India, and because I have never been there before this trip.

Long time Central Committee member David Zartman passed away in August. He served for many years as our party treasurer and in various offices in Bloomville, including mayor. Here is his obituary. He was a wonderful man, and will be missed.

We also note with sadness the passing of Tiffin City Council President Mark Hayes, and Jeff Shuff, father of council member Tyler Shuff.

Please remember them in your prayers.
