 #MaskUp, Calhoun County
In most situations, everyone in Michigan is required to wear a mask in public spaces, or in crowded outdoor spaces, according to Gov. Whitmer’s executive order 2020-147.

As the local COVID-19 pandemic response continues, Calhoun County's Unified Law Enforcement will continue to communicate and educate our community—individuals and businesses—about what is required by the order, and how best to stay safe and stop the spread of the virus.

While police can enforce the executive order as law, they prefer to work with the community, through conversation and education, to encourage that everyone comply with the orders. The same will hold true for the requirement to wear masks in public spaces, and for businesses to require masks for entry and service.
You may see signs like this one, provided by the state to help businesses educate visitors on this requirement. Local leaders encourage your understanding and compliance by wearing a mask as you support and respect our local businesses. You can see more signage and resources here: https://www.michigan.gov/leo/0,5863,7-336-100207---,00.html#comp_116644

If you have a mask-related complaint about a business, please contact a representative of that business.

If you have a mask-related complaint in another public space, please contact your local law enforcement agency at their non-emergency phone number:
