2020-21 School Theme: Embrace Challenge
|
|
The idea of "Embracing Challenge" has always been a part of Brookfield Academy's existence. It's like our roots...our approach to academics, this notion of continually striving for excellence, of pushing oneself, I think that inherently requires you to "embrace challenge." I don't think it's possible to strive for excellence without doing that...The mindset of embracing challenges -- I think that's one of the biggest underlying benefits of attending BA.
~ Nick Spaeth, Director of College Counseling

COVID-19 UPDATES
We continue to be able to tell you that Brookfield Academy has not had anyone on campus test positive for COVID-19. If we should have a positive COVID test at our school, we will report it to everyone who needs to know. We are constantly working to stay on top of all our protocols and, although this is a challenge, we are doing it conscientiously, knowing it will keep our school community as safe as possible.
Please help us by remembering the following protocols:
- Siblings – When one child in a family is ill with any symptoms, please keep all siblings home until we have determined it is safe for them to return to school.
- If a sibling returns home from college because of a COVID-19 quarantine, all siblings attending BA should stay home until we have determined it is safe for them to return to school.
- Unfortunately, any alumni returning home from college for fall breaks may not visit Brookfield Academy. We will miss seeing them, but we need to forgo these visits this year.
- Travel – If you plan to travel to a hotspot, defined as any state or area which is red for seven consecutive days on the CDC COVID map, please let us know. We do realize Wisconsin is now a red state; however Brookfield’s COVID rate is very low, and our school has had no cases of COVID-19 on our campus. In an attempt to keep it this way, we want to know when you have traveled outside of Wisconsin to another red state or area. When you return home, BA students may be asked to take a COVID test and/or quarantine for 14 days before returning to school.
It is important to contact your Division’s Administrative Assistant or our Director of Human Resources, Ms. Elizabeth Andersen, with information concerning these situations. Please help us stay as safe as possible by using your best judgements in all you do when you are on and off our campus.
Thank you for your help,
Sharon Koenings, Head of School
