Your Weekly News from the Collin County Democratic Party
Primary Runoff Election Results
Congratulations to all on a successful Democratic Primary Runoff!

Despite a pandemic, we had by far the largest turnout for a Democratic runoff in Collin County history! Turnout for this runoff was higher than most March Democratic primaries. This was due to motivated voters, some hotly contested runoff races, a host of election workers who put themselves at risk to ensure your right to vote, and a dedicated and overworked Primary Administration staff who played “whack-a-mole” even more than usual to fill vacancies in judges, alternates, and clerks.

Based on unofficial Election Night results, we congratulate these nominees:
•   MJ Hegar – US Senate
•   Lulu Seikaly – 3rd Congressional District
•   Chrysta Casta ñeda – Railroad Commissioner
•   Lorenzo Sanchez – TX House District 67

We also thank State Senator Royce West, Sean McCaffity, Roberto Alonzo, and Tom Adair for running good races.

Not only was this a record runoff for Collin County, it was a record for Texas as well! This says that our voters are motivated and ready for change. They want good government that serves all the people and not the rich and powerful, equal rights and opportunity for ALL Americans, and public policies based on science instead of politics.
You are Our Key to the
Ann Richards Dinner Auction Success!
Have you been a little blue because you have had to curb your shopping fix for great deals? Well, your wait will be over soon because the ARD Silent Auction is scheduled to begin next month.

As part of our mission to elect Democrats and turn Collin County BLUE, we are holding the virtual Ann Richards Dinner August 29th . To add to the excitement of the event, the Collin County Democratic Party is sponsoring a virtual silent auction.

We are asking you to support this effort. You can do this several ways.

Here are just a few:
  1. Sponsor auction items by donating money towards the auction.
  2. Ask your friends, family, and business partners if they could provide quality items to help make this a successful fundraiser.
  3. Donate auction items yourself.

Suggested items include:

  • Gift baskets with a variety of themed merchandise. The committee will put it together if that is not your thing.
  • Professional services such as but not limited to:
  1. Photography
  2. Landscaping
  3. Attorney services
  4. Health and Beauty services
  5. Cooking lessons and demonstrations
  6. Dog training lessons
  7. Tutoring services
  • Artwork and jewelry
  • Designer bags or totes
  • Restaurant gift cards or meal preparation services
  • Books (signed, coffee table, collections)
  • Athletic memorabilia
  • Democratic paraphernalia
  • Vacation packages, rentals or stays

These are just a few suggestions. If you have someone or a company/corporation in mind who might be able to help, the Silent Auction Committee has prepared a letter that will aid in your solicitations. Please contact ARD2020Auction@collindemocrats.org for assistance.
