Worship in the Sanctuary - March 21 |
Soon and Very Soon... Gather Us In...There's a Sweet, Sweet Spirit... I Come with Joy... Great Is Thy Faithfulness... So many hymns may describe our feelings of returning to worship in the sanctuary!
We’re so excited that in the midst of this pandemic, local conditions are once again approaching healthy and safe levels for our RETURN to WORSHIP in the Memorial Church Sanctuary.
As you continue to practice healthy precautions and receive vaccinations, we are preparing to gather in person for worship on Sunday, March 21. Registration is now open for those wishing to join in-person worship on the 21st.
With the return of in person worship, we’re dedicated also to offering the weekly worship livestream for those who wish to worship from home.
Our Body of Christ is committed throughout this pandemic to offer everyone the deep peace, abundant grace and genuine freedom to make the best and healthiest choice as we grow in faith.
With faith, hope and love, we
return to glorify the Triune God in the sanctuary as a
renewed ministry that is
reformed and always reforming.

Campus Ministry Discussion Group |
Pastor Marc will be leading a four discussion group nights for college and campus students called "Worldchanging 101" based on the lessons in the book by the same name by David LaMotte. The discussion group will be over Zoom every other Monday night at 7:00 p.m. The dates for these discussion nights are March 22, April 5, and April 19.

Connecting as the Beloved Community |
Jean O’Connell is feeling much lighter in spirit as she has had her second shot. It is hard not seeing family inside her own home. Jean misses the rummage sale "Rats" as she was an avid worker. She is still finding joy in life, sparked partly by the interest in bird watching developing with her 10 year old grandson. On a recent walk they spotted a screech owl, evidently a rare bird to see. Her culinary skills are multiplying, branching out to recipes that make her meals more exciting. Jean has also gone back to her painting class at the Middletown Arts Center, reconnecting with old friends.
Charles and Barbara Skipper (Watch for Sherrie in a later edition)
Chuck now describes his station in life as "Licensed Household Executive", an advancement over his previous position as "Assistant Licensed Household Executive." Perhaps there is a sprint course, in his future, on this subject. He is a devoted reader of the New York Times and the New Yorker. Currently he is engrossed in "An Empire On The Edge" by Nick Bunker. It is set at the time of the Boston Tea Party and the origins of the American Revolution. Barbara has contributed much to the life of both OPC and the Oxford community over many years. She now is absolutely delighted to have no responsibilities and just enjoy life. One of her pleasures is walking for a half hour, most every day, around the neighborhood. Her quote, "It is time to give someone else the opportunity to polish the Presbyterian brass."

OPC has several file cabinets we are no longer using that are looking for new homes. Both 2-drawer and 4-drawer cabinets are available and delivery is available. Please contact the church office if you are interested.
