With your financial support, we will lay the groundwork for our continued growth as a congregation. In addition to continued support for our many and varied vibrant ministries, we are looking forward to launching new initiatives – plans which would incur expenses not ordinarily part of our budgeting process.

Calling A New Settled Minister
Foremost among these is the recruitment of our new Senior Minister. Through the efforts of the Transition and Search & Call teams, we look forward to calling a new Senior Minister to lead our congregation into the next chapter of our life together. In doing so, we will incur additional travel and ancillary expenses. Also, the success of this year’s Stewardship appeal will be critical in our recruitment efforts as a demonstration of the strength of the Hills Church and our willingness to offer financial support to our mission.
Website Redesign
We also are redesigning our website to portray our congregational values and the vitality of our church offerings more accurately. Having a visually appealing website with cogent messaging and easy navigational tools will aid us in our Senior Minister recruitment efforts, in our outreach to potential new members, and in the ease of our internal communications.

Outreach Funding
Very importantly, we would also like to restore our outreach funding to its prior levels of support. Recent outreach programs have been funded in part by two special purpose funds that, as planned, were exhausted in 2020. Therefore, we are asking you to consider an increased pledge this year so that we can maintain our support for those in need and share our own good fortune. For many years the Hills Church has offered shelter, food, and support to unhoused individuals in Boston through the Friends of Boston Homeless and Common Cathedral, and to homeless families with children in Metrowest though Family Promise. We have built homes for low-income families through Habitat for Humanity, and we provide space and support for the Wellesley Food Pantry. Internationally, we educated highly disadvantaged children and young adults in India through our partnership with the African Indian Alliance and helped economically marginalized people in rural Honduras recover after two destructive hurricanes last year. In addition, conversations facilitated by the Racial Justice Task Force may lead us to new opportunities for advocacy as well as outreach as we continue to love and serve our neighbors.
