Dear Parents,
Every day when our students enter the building, the enthusiasm I see and feel is contagious, but today as the children entered through the arches of our blow-up apple, the excitement was even more palpable. Special events like this weekend's upcoming Apple Run foster a sense of community and working together that each and every person needs. These events bring us together in mind, body and spirit, and working together we can do great things. We are familiar with Corinthians 12:12-27, One Body but Many Parts. Our school community is one body, and we all share the joy of the other parts. We all use our special God-given talents for the greater good. Thank you to all of you who are doing so much on the front lines and behind the scenes to make great things happen here at St. Catherine of Siena School.
Each year local high schools visit St. Catherine of Siena School and provide presentations and information to our eighth graders who are beginning to think about life after SCSS. Below you will find the current schedule for upcoming high school visits.

Science and Reading Positions
As you may know, our reading specialist, Mrs. Basso, resigned from her position effective August 28. I have been busy reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates for the reading position and for our middle school science position. Unfortunately, the applicant pool at this time of year is small. I am doing my very best to get qualified teachers in these positions. Please know that until that happens, I will personally continue to work with Mrs. Bode to ensure delivery our middle school science curriculum to our students. Our teachers will work with students in small group instruction toward the model of personalized learning we are using in the diocese. Thank you again for your patience.
