On Sunday in honor of Veteran’s Day, we will recognize those individuals who have served in the military.

ADULT CHRISTIAN FORMATION
IS THERE FAIR HOUSING IN CONNECTICUT?
This Sunday our forum will explore the issue of access to affordable housing for all people. Erin Boggs, Executive Director of Open Communities Alliance (OCA), will be our guest presenter, and she will be joined by Taniqua Huguley, the OCA Outreach coordinator. They will highlight for us the racial and economic disparities in access to decent, affordable places to live throughout our state. The Open Communities Alliance has been a leader in efforts to help towns and cities acknowledge and overcome barriers to fair housing throughout Connecticut.
This forum is a two-part presentation. Next Sunday, Ms. Boggs and Ms. Huguley will return to share with us more about the work of OCA to overcome housing discrimination. We hope you can come to both sessions. However, each session will stand on its own, so don’t miss it even if you can only come to one. The forums will be livestreamed and recorded.

Loaves And Fishes Team
Returns to Cooking at Trinity Episcopal Church
The Trinity Loaves and Fishes Team will be providing a cooked meal for Loaves and Fishes Hartford starting in November. Due to Covid restrictions we will be cooking only in November. Serving remains on hold. If you are interest in joining us, please feel free to come to TEC on Tuesday, November 16th at 1:30 pm. We will be cooking "Richards's Chicken and Rice" which is a favorite of those who come to eat at Loaves and Fishes. If you have questions, please call Steve Zhitnik at 860-521-5992.

Fall Grounds Work Day
It is the time of year to clean-up Trinity’s gardens and lawns in preparation for winter. The Property Team has designated Saturday, November 20 from 9:00 a.m. to noon as the second of two fall workdays. Bring your favorite tools and gloves and a friend. Trinity's 2021 "Giving Tree" Arrives 11/21!
This Advent, we are continuing Trinity's tradition of a "Giving Tree" - a tree set up in the Sanctuary, loaded with tags that list wishes from students at Trinity Academy and children from the Adopt-A-Social Worker program of Covenant to Care.
Parishioners who wish to participate will chose a tag on this or a subsequent Sunday, purchase the item and place the gift under the tree by Sunday 12/12. We are committed to these children, and it is important that gifts be returned by this date so that they may be distributed.
We have been asked to provide:
- $25 gift cards to either Target or Walmart for 20 students of Trinity Academy (Asylum Hill Congregational Church is providing gift cards to the other 20 students) and
- Actual gifts as requested for 20 children through Covenant to Care.
With only 3 weeks to shop for and return the gifts, our elves will need to work quickly!

Transition to Eternal Life
The prayers of Trinity Church are with George Chien, his mother, Betty Chien Reed, and the Chien and Reed families in the death of his step-father, Irving Reed, who passed into eternal life on November 9.
Father of all, we pray to you for Irving, and for all those whom we love but see no longer. Grant to them eternal rest. Let light perpetual shine upon them. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin is the story of the teenage stepson of the minister of a storefront Pentecostal church in Harlem one Saturday in March of 1935. Trinity's book group will discuss this classic novel at its meeting on January 14th, 7:00-9:00 pm. All are welcome to attend!
