All are invited to gather for an evening prayer service sponsored by the Brooklyn Heights Interfaith Clergy Association to observe the 18th anniversary of the terror attacks on our city and nation. We will gather on the Brooklyn Promenade at Montague Street. Read Brett's thoughts on remembering 9/11 and making meaning of it.

Faith Ed: Listening for God | Sundays September 8 – October 13 @ 9:45 AM
We will explore contemporary literature and the life of faith. Participants will investigate how life and faith merge in surprising ways by reading discussing short stories by Frederick Buechner, Raymond Carver, Annie Dillard, Alice Walker and Richard Rodriguez.

This Sunday, we officially launch Plymouth’s capital campaign, The Spirit at Work. During Worship we will think, pray and sing about God’s invitation to share what we have been given to strengthen Christ’s church. Immediately after Worship, everyone is invited to Hillis Hall to receive personalized materials inviting them to participate in the campaign. If you’ll be away from Plymouth this Sunday, please keep an eye out for your materials in the mail next week.

Volunteer for the Plymouth Shelter | September 22 through October 24 
Plymouth is hosting 10 homeless men, providing hospitality, a nutritious dinner and a safe, warm place to sleep. We need four volunteers per night: a greeter to open the shelter; a cook to deliver home-cooked dinner and two overnight volunteers. Contact Nancy Trott with any questions. Conversations on Race: Colorblindness | Sunday, September 22 @ 12:30 PM
The Racial Justice Ministry will host a small group discussion around the theme of "colorblindness" based on an excerpts from Michelle Alexander's book, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. Church Retreat | October 18-20
Families and individuals of Plymouth are invited away for the weekend to the beautiful Edith Macy Center in Briarcliff Manor, NY (accessible by train) where we will relax, get to know one another, and deepen our understanding of what it means to Listen to the Spirit. Guest speaker and Presbyterian Minister Camilla Ballard will lead us in our discussions.
