What changes should I expect at this  year's High Holiday celebrations?
In addition to our new Machzor, there are many other exciting changes happening for our High Holiday Services. Each week leading up to Rosh Hashanah, the Scoop will feature one of these changes. All of the changes that are happening have the goal of making our High Holiday services more engaging and enjoyable for all in attendance. This year, each aliyah during the Torah service will be dedicated to honouring a group of people in our community. We will ask that you please rise for the aliyah if you are in the group being honoured. We have so much to celebrate in our community, and this will allow us to come together to honour some of the special things in the lives of our congregants. Also, please remember that new Machzorim are still available for purchase from the office. Stay tuned for more news about exciting new changes in the High Holidays at Beth Tikvah!

HIGH HOLIDAY TICKETS
Tickets are being mailed out so if you have not made arrangements yet for your fees please call the office.

GUEST SPEAKER AFTER KIDDUSH LUNCH SEPTEMBER 14
Kara Mintzberg, the BC regional director of CJPAC (Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee), will lead a discussion after Kiddush lunch on the upcoming elections in Canada. She will discuss how citizens can get engaged in the federal elections through CJPAC, by connecting them to campaigns of their choice, training to be volunteers, and getting support throughout the process. Being involved not only can help your favoured candidate to get elected, but it ensures that you have a voice in our democracy.
