Faith in Action Makes Ordinary Extraordinary  “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” I Corinthians 10:31b   Dear Berkeley Hills families, The year is off to a wonderful start! It has been such a precious gift to connect with your children over these first few weeks. This year's school theme reminds us to put our faith into action . The past few weeks at chapel, we learned that faith is a complete trust or confidence in God and action is doing something . Every day, we need to have a complete trust in God, knowing and believing that God can do anything because He's God , and then do something that God wants us to do . IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE AFTERNOON CARPOOL DISMISSAL & MORNING DROP-OFF

STUDENT SAFETY IS TOP PRIORITY! AFTERNOON CARPOOL DISMISSAL Buses must dismiss first and are unable to pull in if cars are parked at the end of the lot. Carpool pick-up CANNOT enter the Berkeley Hills parking lot until 3:25.   If you arrive before 3:25, you may park directly across the street on Park Place Drive. After the buses leave the Berkeley Hills parking lot, carpool dismissal may enter. You may NOT park and walk to the front door to pick up your child unless he/she has an early dismissal.   MORNING DROP-OFF If you wish to walk your child in to school at morning drop-off, please park in the double spaces on the Siebert Road side of the lot.  A morning greeter is on the front sidewalk and a door greeter is at the front entrance from 8:00 am until 8:27 am to welcome your children.  Entry doors are locked at 8:27 am and remain locked during school hours.  If you arrive after 8:27 am, please come to the front door, ring the buzzer, and report directly to the office. All homerooms begin promptly at 8:30 am.

ACTIVITY DETAILS

Discovery Program Ice Cream Sale Begins September 17   Ice cream for only $1.00 will be available on Tuesdays at lunch. Proceeds benefit the Discovery Program. New this year! You can buy at $10 ice cream card in the main office and your child can use it for Tuesday ice cream for 10 weeks. Note: Ice cream can only be served to students who have a prepaid ice cream card or cash.

Fifth and Sixth Grade Retreat to Lutherlyn September 20 Students will spend the day team-building and diving in to hands-on environmental learning activities at the Lutherlyn Environmental Education Center. At Eden, learning happens inside and outside the classroom!

Friday Lunch Snack Cart Begins September 27 During lunches, snacks will be available for .50 or $1 and will include healthier options such as baked chips! Proceeds will used for student assemblies.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

2019-2020 CHEER CLUB Wednesdays; November 6 - April 29 3:30-4:00 pm in the Berkeley Hills gymnasium Uniform/Pom Cost - $65 Program Cost: $15.00 per month per student OR $85.00 total for the year per student Students will cheer at several basketball games in December, January, and February, and will have a final performance in April during Chapel. CRAZY CHEMWORKS CLUB Thursdays; September 26 - October 24 3:20-4:20 pm Students in K - Grade 6 Program Cost: $64 per student Students will s hake up a flask of fun in the lab as junior chemists! This hands-on and interactive program of chemistry for children ages 5-12 is packed solid with cool reactions. Students put on goggles and change liquid to solid and back again. They get to handle laboratory tools, build and break molecules, and pick up some tricks on chemical changes. REGISTER ONLINE HERE Registration deadline is September 24.
