50th Anniversary Kickoff Party
|
|
Saturday's party on the blacktop was a great time of celebration and reunion. Music, bubbles, and the voices of friends filled the air. Two students from the school's very first class - Guiesseppe Jones and Fred Samuels - were in attendance. Clopper Almon, a founder of the school, spoke about the wonder of seeing the community that has grown from the seeds planted 50 years ago.
Thanks to all who came to this kickoff celebration for our 50th year - we will continue to celebrate throughout the school year - keep an eye out for further announcements!

Michaelmas Will Be Here Soon
|
|
September 27, 12:45-3pm (rain date: Oct 4)
Michaelmas Festival of Strength and Courage
The Michaelmas celebration is a cornerstone in our school year as it is in Waldorf schools around the world. At WWS we mark the day with all sorts of games and activities of strength, skill, and courage, which have been set up by the seniors and the 6th graders. The celebration begins at 12:45 p.m. on the blacktop. We begin with a dragon pageant, performed by 9th graders, and a sword dance performed by the 7th graders. The afternoon will end with a giant four-way tug of war on the lower field at which time the high school students will join.
All WWS families are invited to observe the celebration, but activities are intended for our students in grades 1-8 only, and younger siblings need to stay with their parents.
Parents, together with faculty and seniors, help staff the activities at the Michaelmas Festival.
Participating is an opportunity to observe your children having a blast!
Volunteer opportunities and a sign up will be in next week's Bulletin.
Please watch for that announcement among your emails.

Nanny Available
Our beloved nanny of over 4 years, Nubia, is looking for a new position as our son has started kindergarten. She is a gift beyond measure! She’s been an angel to our family.
Nubia is one of a kind – highly involved, incredibly trustworthy and infinitely patient and loving. I trust her implicitly. We feel like we’re losing a member of our family. I’m happy to answer any questions or just chat more about our experience.
