This Week
Sunday, June 7, ONLINE at
10:00am
Share the Plate:
June's Share the Plate partner is Via Hope: Texas Mental Health Resource, which provides education, training, and consultation to individuals in recovery from mental illness, their family members, and mental health professionals throughout the state of Texas.
Reaching out to those on the front lines of mental health, and those suffering, has never been more important than during this time of forced isolation. All designated "share the plate" donations, and half of all undesignated donations, will be given the Via Hope for the month of June.

Live Oak Trading Post
Meet up here to offer, ask, or trade items
During the past 3 months of quarantine, I have never taken toilet paper, eggs, and toothpaste for granted as much as I have in the last 3 months. I have seen kindness, resourcefulness, and ingenuity when it comes to getting these everyday items. I'm excited to present to you our Live Oak Trading Post. This is where our members who are in need of items small or large, will be able to put it on the list with their preferred contact information. Other members will be able to look at the list and see if these are items that they can supply; or set up a trade for something else. This list is also set up so that if a member has something to offer, that can be put on the list also and just indicate it is being offered. Please take a moment to look at and use the Trading Post. now we don't have to wait for the next Zoom meeting to see if anyone needs anything!

The Show Must Go On!
We've figured out how to do just about everything else virtually, so why not have a virtual Talent Show!
The Live Oak second annual/special edition Talent Show will be presented on Zoom on Saturday June 27 at 5 p.m. Video entries should be sent to Rev.Joanna. If you kinda wanted to perform in the show but not in front of a live audience, this is your chance! You can do as many takes as you need to and no one will know. Last year we had all kinds of music acts as well as gymnastics, monologue, drag show, clogging and tap dancing. Let's branch out this year and have even more variety! First-timers and pros and everyone in between are all encouraged to perform. And just because you've performed as part of a Sunday service doesn't mean you can't be in the talent show. This is a chance for you to choose your material/music. Please be sure it's family friendly! Questions? Contact Jen Swan.

Zoom Update
The folks at Zoom have been hard at work to make Zoom more secure. They have released an update that includes some security measures. After 5/30, this update will happen automatically the first time you join a meeting. It may take a few minutes, so you should plan to join a little early. It is an option to do it ahead of time. When you login, you'll see this:
Click on "now" and follow the instructions.

Zoom!
We encourage you to connect with Zoom in various ways.
If you are planning a Zoom gathering for Live Oak members on your own Zoom account, please provide Diane with the date, time, link and title of the meeting. She will add it to the What's Happening page.
If you need a zoom meeting scheduled on the Live Oak account, send a request to Diane, and she will help you schedule it and provide the link.

What's Happening This Week
Enriching Connections has become an even more vital part of all that we do. We want to make it as easy for you to stay connected as possible. So we encourage you to add something to your morning routine. As you sip your coffee or tea, go to this link:
http://www.liveoakuu.org/whats-happening-this-week/
It will have the most up-to-date information about connection events. Be sure and save the link! We want to enrich connections, but we are also putting safeguards in place so that we can feel safer when we gather in this way. (But if you have a friend who might want to join, feel free to privately send them the link.)
