Hello everyone,
Goodness, what an early torrential storm we just had! Rain, rain, rain after drought, drought, drought, which of course is nowhere near over, but the moisture is sure a welcome relief. We hope you’ll join us this month, on zoom or in person, for an activity or two to enhance your healthy aging. This month’s activities include our Age Friendly Marin Forum (a week early due to the holiday)—it will focus on planning ahead and getting our ducks in a row; for a second time we’re offering a 2-part zoom class on using iPhones; and our annual Celebration for Fairfax residents who are 90+ years old happens on November 13! We’ll be delivering beautiful baskets full of goodies as well as certificates so please connect with us asap if you or someone you know and love falls into this special category, born in 1931 or earlier. Be well and stay safe.
The Age Friendly Fairfax Task Force: Jody Timms, Barbara Coler, Susan A. Brandborg, Francie Bedinger, Anne Mannes, Jessica Price,
and Jackie Engstrom.

November 4, 10-11am
“Voices of Marin City.” Since the development of Marin City in 1942 and the formation of the Marin City Community Services District (MCCSD) in 1958, Marin City residents have fed, clothed, educated, employed, and cared for generations of their fellow community members. MCCSD’s board and staff continue this work, embracing the values of community, civic engagement and self-determination and dedicating their gifts and talents tirelessly in the pursuit of equity and inclusion for all Marin County residents. Come learn about Golden Gate Village and the Resident Council’s Deep Green Renovation Plan; and how to get involved to support services and policies for older adults living in Marin City. Hear about the history of Marin City from two women, who have lived there since childhood: Royce McLemore, Board Member of MCCSD and Principal Officer of the Golden Gate Village Resident Council; and Juanita Edwards, Senior Services Coordinator at MCCSD
