WAMFT Legislative Update for September:
Watch Ask the Lobbyist Part 2!
Greetings!

As the season now turns to Fall, we fill our lives with transitions. Back to school, back to shorter days and back to shaping policy in our state. This month we invite you to watch part two of Ask the Lobbyist. We hope that you enjoy some of the information that we are able to share with you this month.

In addition, we are requesting your participation in a quick three question survey to help align our legislative goals with your priorities. Please find the survey here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YSNLD6J . This will assist in ensuring that we are on target serving the needs of our members.

Lastly, attached to this email you will find correspondence from Washington State Department of Health holding open meetings to discuss the myriad of changes to behavioral health access which includes the recently passed Reciprocity Bill. Many board members will be attending these meetings. It is essential that our voices are heard during this process. As our state begins the process of introducing Integrated Health Care, we must be consulted. After all, Systemic Problems, Require Systemic Thinkers, to deploy Systemic Solutions.
Signed,
Anthony Pennant, LMFT
Legislative Committee Chair
