Start with our three-part series on air quality in Utah!
  • Episode 1: Dive into the science behind why our air quality can get bad, what pollution is, what it does to your health, and why Utahns rank air quality as one of their top concerns.
  • Episode 2: Get into the top sources of emissions in our state and the actions individuals can take in their homes and their day-to-day lives to help improve our air quality.
  • Episode 3: Learn about the classifications of vehicles on the road today, smog ratings, Tier 3 Fuel, upstream emissions, and the number one way you can clean the air.

We're two episodes deep into our three-part series on water in Utah!
  • Episode 4: Learn about Utah's hydrologic cycle—everything from our state's water cycle, our built and natural water storage systems including watersheds and aquifers, the significance of the Great Salt Lake, and the impact of climate change on our water systems.

We’re due for a big earthquake—the Wasatch Front has a 43 percent chance of experiencing a 6.75 or greater magnitude earthquake in the next fifty years.

Have you ever wondered what will happen after that big one hits though? When will aid arrive? How long will power be out? How many buildings will crumble?

Envision Utah sat down with the experts at FEMA to design a hypothetical timeline of what “The Big One” and life afterward might look like. From the first two minutes after the shaking stops through the next ten years, the timeline goes through all the big numbers: how many lives will be lost in the first day, how many months before critical utilities are restored, how much the quake will cost Utah in the short- and long-term, and more.

We know this can be scary to think about, but it’s critically important for Utahns to be as prepared as possible. That way, when the earthquake does happen, we can minimize damage and devastation and ensure an efficient and resilient response.

Sit down with the Envision Utah team and get into the hot topics of growth
This year Envision Utah sat down with ABC 4 for a week-long In Focus Discussion series on growth! Alongside other local experts we covered five of the most pressing topics concerning Utah's future and the impact our growth will have on them:

Dive into what types of products are grown in Utah, how important agriculture is to the state, and the climate change trends we've seen over the past few decades.

Learn how much the average family spends on transportation, how Utahns view transportation, and why they mostly opt for driving.

Check out what's improving the air quality in Utah, whether population growth could threaten that, what causes bad air, and more.

Learn where our state ranks nationally when it comes to the drought, what it looks like moving forward, and how climate change impacts drought conditions.

Check out the factors behind Utah's housing boom, the geographical constraints in the state, how we can add more housing without making traffic and air quality worse, and more.

This year we asked an important question: What will Utah’s post-pandemic future look like? To answer that question, we hosted a panel of local and national experts who helped us peer into Utah's future. The panelists answered viewer’s questions focused on five key topics: recreation, housing, transportation, climate change, & economy.
After many years of working group and stakeholder engagement, Envision Utah launched the Creating Community Guide: A Guide to Walkable Centers. Check out the launch and breakout sessions on myths & public engagement, centers in different settings, and implementation first steps.
This year we celebrated two incredible organizations: Utah Refugee Connection and WCF Insurance. We also heard from special guests, Seth Arens from Western Water Assessment, and Representative John Curtis of Utah's Third Congressional District, who spoke on climate change and climate stewardship in Utah.
