Weekly Framework
The United States of America is a nation of laws. But laws don't inspire greatness, excellence, or virtue. In fact, when we confuse what is legal with what is moral, everyone looks for a loophole to serve his or her own interests. The rich rule the poor, women become commodities, and children become victims. The law causes us to look down. It takes something else to inspire us to look up.

Thursday's Reflection
From Pastor Eric's Daily Study Guide

The apostle Paul is saying that we will destroy ourselves as a society when everything becomes about our own individual rights.  Do you think America's biggest threat is from forces outside our country (other nations, terrorism etc.) or do you think our biggest threat is from a society where everyone puts their own rights first?

In your own words, pray for healing for the injustices in our country and world.

If you have a prayer request, send it to the prayer team at prayer@asburylv.org.

Timing your In-store Shopping

If you are going to shop in a store, plan on a big order to limit your trips and try an off-peak time by:
-   Going online and typing the store's name and location in a Google search. A box will often appear showing you when foot traffic there is lowest.
-   If you are 60 and over or have health conditions, check if your store has set special hours.

GodTime Reflection

What do each of these traffic signs, or rules of the road, mean?

Have you ever thought of rules as grace? It's true though, rules keep us safe, help us know how to live well, and keep us from hurting ourselves and others.

God's rules, or law, are the same. He didn't have to give us rules, but He did because He loves us. But it didn't stop there. Because He also gave us Jesus! That means even when we mess up and don't
follow the rules, we still have grace and mercy available to us through Jesus.

Thank God for His grace upon grace.

Please know that during the time that the office is closed, all calls to Asbury are being received by our answering service, as there is no one available in the office to take your call. Any messages you leave with the answering service are forwarded to us and we will relay your message to the appropriate staff member to respond to you as soon as possible.

Asbury is  now a drop-off site for home-sewn masks for Lehigh Valley Health Network. The collection bin is located at the doors by the upper entrance to the building. If you're able to sew masks, but not able to deliver them,  email Pastor Barbara to get connected with a helper. We do not have supplies available to offer; but could help coordinate a pickup for an order you place at a local fabric or craft store that's offering curbside pickup.

Instructions:

St. Luke's is also collecting personal protective equipment (PPE). Learn more about the items they're accepting and their drop-off locations (their Care Now urgent care locations in Allentown, Whitehall, Bethlehem, and more)  on their website.

I f you are experiencing loneliness, or spiritual and emotional distress during these challenging days, or if there's someone you're concerned about, please reach out to Pastor Barbara at  blee@asburylv.org .
