March 17, 2021

Immediate Press Release

Due to expected severe weather in our area tomorrow morning, Monroe County Schools will, as a safety precaution, implement a Remote Learning Day for students on March 18, 2021. All schools will be closed; however, students will receive instruction via technology. In case of a wide spread power outage or technology difficulties, students will be able to make up their assignments upon returning to school on Friday.

Weather permitting, teachers and staff should report to their schools or work locations at 11:30 a.m.  Later today, schools will communicate with parents and students regarding virtual assignments for the day.

We encourage you to monitor the local news and weather throughout the day and tomorrow for any updates. We look forward to everyone remaining safe and returning to school on Friday.

Sincerely,
Dr. Mike Hickman, Jr.
Dr. Mike Hickman, Superintendent of Schools
