Buen Camino is Spanish for “Good Walk” and is the common greeting on the Camino de Santiago. It implies that we are pilgrims on a pilgrimage.

Our new Fall program features Brene’ Brown’s new book RISING STRONG – How the ability to reset transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead. The lessons, drawn from the book, are geared to help you face the unique challenges of these unusual times. The program offers tools, understanding, and practical insights that teach how life affects you along with positive ways to reset. The program is organized around small discussion groups. At this time, we are looking for volunteers to serve as group facilitators. If you are interested, please fill out the Facilitator Sign-Up Form. Training and a facilitator handbook are provided.

At Home COVID-19 Test

If you are interested in receiving a COVID-19 test but don't want to wait in a long-line, you can now take the test from home. The test is offered by Labcorp. The kits provide everything you need to collect a nasal swab sample and send it back for analysis. Kits are available to all individuals who meet the screening criteria for COVID-19 testing. 
Restrictions may apply. This test does not detect antibodies or immunity.

Family Promise Week

Our Community Outreach ministry is organizing meals for Family Promise during the week of August 23 to August 29. Given the current health crisis, the guest families are staying in a local motel and do not need overnight chaperones. Furthermore, to keep everyone safe, meal delivery will be contact free so you will not interact with the guest families. There are still three days open. To sponsor a meal, open the MealTrain Calendar for Family Promise and click on the corresponding (green) volunteer button for the day you wish to cover. Unity Environmental Team August Challenge

The Unity Environmental Team is back with another challenge to encourage you to reduce your use of single use plastics. This month, you are asked to try Soap Nuts as an alternative to liquid laundry detergent. Using soap nuts will make your laundry routine more sustainable. Although they may not be familiar to you, they are commonly used in India and Nepal. The nuts are a cheap, reusable, and chemical-free way to clean your clothes and household fabrics.

Community In-Reach

As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the consequences of social distancing, members of our community are dealing certain hardships. Consequently, our in-reach team is offering their assistance. If you or someone you know could use a little assistance, please fill out our contact form. Zoom Online Yoga

Community member and certified yoga teacher Lauren Cuvala is offering Zoom Online Yoga classes on Wednesdays at noon. The class is scheduled to recur weekly through the end of August and may go longer. Each session is one hour and offers basic instruction suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners.

A Course in Miracles, Men's Group, Peace Yoga and the Spiritual Evolution Group have resumed regular public gatherings under prescribed safety protocols. During the summer months, many groups are holding meetings outside. If you have questions about the status of a group, contact us and we will help you connect with the appropriate group facilitator.
