Happy Holidays from CampCalNOW!
Oops! Unfortunately, our Holiday cards fell victim to the mess that the shipping system becomes this time of year. They were damaged in transit and never made it to our office, but our staff would like to wish each and every one of you a joyous Holiday season and a Happy New Year. We would also like to take a minute to thank our members for your continued support! We appreciate you all and wouldn't be here without you! Here's to another year of supporting and promoting the outdoor hospitality industry!
Welcoming Our 2022 Chairman of the Board
"Our Side of the Counter"
As a Second-Generation Owner/ Operator of Coloma Resort in Coloma California, I have been checking-in campers since I was 8 years old. Standing on an upside-down milk crate so I could reach the counter, it didn’t take me long to recognize the value that a camping experience provides a family. Often an effort of great proportions for the camping consumer, it’s witnessing that spark, that drive, that desire to connect with loved ones and nature that inspires me! It is the reason my parents, Fred and Marielle built Coloma Resort and the reason I strive to improve our guests’ experiences beyond their expectations. My Dad used to say, “Our most sincere desire is that the memories you create today will last a lifetime.” What a gift to witness those experiences from our side of the counter! It is that connection that inspired me to join the board of then CalARVC.

During my 5-year tenure on the board I have been a part of many changes within the association including a name change, and rebranding, change of leadership, and organizational structure. I am delighted to be stepping in as chairman and look forward to serving the members alongside an amazing group of professionals and fellow board members. All with diverse industry experience, we are equally committed to creating substantial value for our members! We are encouraged by the growth in outdoor hospitality and look forward to the changing landscape of accommodations as “glamping” becomes more mainstream.

It's an exciting time to be a park owner and operator, a great time to be leading one of the largest and most progressive RV park and campground associations in the nation, and a REALLY exciting time to have CampCalNow in your corner!

Whether you’re interested in following the latest glamping trends, needing legal advice, advocacy, or just looking to network, I encourage all park owners and operators to tap into this invaluable resource that is CampCalNow!

Please feel free to reach out to myself or any of our board of directors. We look forward to serving you and seeing you at the Summit in 2022.

Update on Generator Ban
Recently there has been varying degrees of information shared about the California Air Resources Board (CARB) ban on generators. RVIA in conjunction with RVDA has been hard at work to protect the interests of the RV manufacturers and dealers but you may be wondering what effect this will have on your business and most importantly your guests.

In layman’s terms, the resolution seeks to ban the “SALE” of gas/LP engines less than 25 horsepower including those permanently installed in RVs. However, it does not ban the use of them. Meaning that, your guests may continue to use the generators they currently own but at some point, will not be able to buy one in California regardless of it being a stand alone or installed.

The 2022 Small Off-Road Engine (SORE) regulation applies to all spark ignition engines, but diesel RV generators are exempt. RVIA issued the release linked below in our blog which provides a little more insight.
