Reflection from your Co-Pastors
July 27, 2020
Thank you!
A resounding Thank You for every which way you have helped make my ordination as priest and my first Mass so grace-filled. I am resting in yesterday’s moment of love poured out. May God continue to bless all in the community of Mary of Magdala with the Spirit of authenticity, agency, and searching.
My reflection this morning is from the thought of God’s constant call. Yesterday wouldn’t have happened if the community as individuals and as collective had not called me. As Chantal said yesterday in her reflection on Mary of Magdala, ‘we are called.’
For me, this could not have happened until now. God has been molding and changing me my life for the ‘now’ we are experiencing, all of it. For my entire life God has been stripping away my external self, my ego with all its pride in the many facets of my personality, to uncover and allow the self that I know as Love to come closer to the surface, but only closer. You know, that vulnerable self that we try to protect, the self that eventually surrenders to Love.
