A Message from the Executive Director
I love Fall at Uplift! Each Fall sees the start of a new program year, and this year will be our busiest yet.

Family Services grief support groups are up and running in East Falls, South Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, and Northeast Philadelphia. In addition, we're excitedly planning the start of new Family Services groups in Center City and North Philadelphia beginning in January.

School and Community grief support groups are being held in 44 schools and community groups throughout Philadelphia with an expected total of close to 200 school and community groups by the end of the program year. In addition to this work in Philadelphia, through school partnerships and crisis support, Uplift is also providing services in Bucks, Camden, Chester, and Montgomery Counties. And in September and October alone, we've trained 203 community members and professionals.

Whew! We're busy, and we have you to thank. Everything Uplift is able to accomplish each program year is thanks to your support. Thank you for making everything we do possible.

P.S. I hope to see you November 14th for an UPLIFTing evening ! Go buy your tickets today!
Keeping Uplift's In-School
Grief Group Students Safe
Stories and emotions shared in Uplift's grief support groups can be complicated. Uplift's clinicians are vigilant in working to ensure that children feel supported and are grounded at the end of group. But for students participating during school, it's not always a smooth transition from grief group to their next subject. Clinicians offer students "Class Passes" to make teachers aware that grieving children can require additional patience and understanding. Students are saying that the Class Passes are making a huge difference in helping them get through their day.
Family Services Grief Groups
Are Expanding
To meet the needs of grieving children and families in Center City and North Philadelphia, Uplift's Family Services program is once again adding new satellite locations. Starting in January, grief groups will be held at the Lenfest Center in North Philadelphia and the Church of the Holy Trinity on Rittenhouse Square in Center City. Space is still currently available in both groups. For more information on Uplift's two new satellite grief group locations, or on groups currently running, please contact Clinical Director Kevin Carter at [email protected] or 267-437-3123, ext. 13.
