Dear Friends,
According to legend, when attending Jewish summer camp the late great Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg grew up wanting to be a rabbi. She was told that she could not be one because she was a girl. She sure showed them, and all of us. Her Jewish upbringing and Jewish values served as her moral compass, guiding her and leading us to a brighter present, and putting all of us on the path to a more just future.
Over the past week, I have watched, read, and listened to multiple tributes for Justice Ginsberg. None have been as moving for me as the video clip, below, of Justice Ginsberg leading a prayer for our country at her nephew’s bar mitzvah.
I wanted to share this clip with you, as my last jewel leading up to Yom Kippur, to remind all of us, and to inspire all of us, to better ourselves, our community, and our country in the year ahead.
May her memory always be for a blessing.
