St. Pius X / St. Leo School Newsletter December 17, 2021
Dear SPSL Families,

On behalf of the St. Pius X / St. Leo School faculty and staff, we want to extend our warmest Advent prayers that all of our families have a very Merry Christmas. Throughout the school year, we have found ourselves to be so blessed and fortunate for your love and support for all of our teachers and staff. It is an honor and a privilege to play a major part in your students’ spiritual, educational, and emotional growth. Although the world has experienced so much stress and strife the past few years, we know that our school is a beacon of hope and a positive light in the world. Thank you for helping us make that light so bright for all to see and to continually help us to live out our school’s mission to form “students in the Catholic faith to excel in academics and service to others” and continuing our school year theme of “using our God-given gifts to love and serve each other in order to become the best versions of ourselves.”

We also want to thank all of our families for your continued empathy and support, not just this school year, but every year. We also pray that you and your families have a blessed New Year and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing in our hope and optimism for a brighter and better 2022. Thank you also for your continued prayers for all of our teachers and staff and please know that you are in our prayers as well.

God is definitely good and we see his goodness in all of your children that we are so fortunate to teach and guide in their academic and spiritual growth. Thank you for giving us the incredible gift of that partnership in educating your children. We pray you all have a Merry Christmas and a happy start to 2022 and we look forward to seeing you all again in the new year.

Christmas and New Year Blessings,

FUNDRAISER RECAP

We are pleased to report that the SPSL Fundraiser in October, "Heroes Among Us!", raised approximately $155,000 for the school! We surpassed our goal and raised even more funds than last year! We are incredibly grateful for the support of our parents, alumni, and friends. Of the total funds raised, approximately $26,000 is designated money for specific areas (e.g. Teacher Wish List, GIVE, and the tuition drawing). The remaining $129,000 will be used according to the following plan established by the School Board:
  • 32% for Capital Improvements
  • 30% for the School Operating Budget
  • 20% for Technology and Educational Resources
  • 13% for Teacher Education and Classroom Stipends
  • 5% for St. Pius X / St. Leo Educational Endowment Trust Fund
We are grateful for the hard work of our Fundraiser Chairs Christine Henningsen, Maureen Kubat, and Bridget Mendenhall as well as our Committee Chairs and volunteers.
