Real-Time Mentoring Update
|
|
As you may know, the Real-Time Mentoring (RTM) platform was launched in April during the coronavirus crisis and has been available to clients ever since. Through Real-Time Mentoring, SCORE has helped more than 6,500 business owners navigate through this confusing time, with the generous and expert support of our volunteer mentors. As challenging as this period was for everyone, it was a proud moment when SCORE stepped up in this new way to help small businesses during this unprecedented period.
SCORE has kept the Real-Time Mentoring services in place through the summer as businesses continue to navigate through reopening, redefining their business, and seeking stability. However, with time, there have been fewer and fewer business owners visiting Real-Time Mentoring for advice and support. To that end, effective on September 30, 2020, we will be shutting down the Real-Time Mentoring platform.
We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to all the mentors who participated in the Real-Time Mentoring platform. You have truly made a difference to many small business owners when they needed it the most.

Chapter Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP)
|
The Chapter Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP) is updated and uploaded to the Support Center.
This manual is now updated for Centralized Accounting, the SOM Contract & Vendor Over $5,000 policies, and for the Federal Grant compliance requirements concerning the use of restricted funds. Please see Section XIII Treasurer Transition recommendations if your chapter is welcoming an incoming treasurer for this coming fiscal year. Examples of allowable and unallowable expenditures are on Page 27.
SCORE would like to thank the Treasurer Advisory Group who invested over 400 hours together reviewing SCORE policies and best accounting practices for chapters. We appreciate your extraordinary dedication to SCORE!

Please work with your district director to finalize your budget before it is submitted following your district director’s instructions. You may want to check out the updated FY21 Chart of Accounts for more classification options, available here.
Your chapter may choose whether to have an annual budget or a monthly budget in Sage Intacct. Please fill out the appropriate tab on the template available here.
Budgets may be submitted at any time during the year, but our goal is to get the files by October 30, so that we can upload them for you by November 9. Chapters may wait until the national allocation is finalized before submitting. We will upload the budgets periodically as received.
