What is a Limited Submission?
A limited submission solicitation (RFA, RFP, etc.) places a cap on the number of proposals that Auburn may submit to a sponsor. Auburn coordinates limited submissions by sending out a notification via this newsletter and creating competitions in the
Auburn University Competition Space
(also known as
InfoReady
).To apply to any limited submission posted below, click on the above link and search for your competition reflected on the page.

Limited Submission Announcements

These grants are for specific one-year research projects which are hypothesis driven and may be either laboratory, clinical, or epidemiological in nature. (Please submit a realistic budget for the project. Average grant will be $100,000 or less; exceptions may be made with satisfactory documentation.)
Current funding priorities are divided into four categories and six focus areas:
- New discovery research
- Translational research and early phase clinical trials
- Phase III clinical trials & infrastructure support of participating institutions (primarily the fall grant cycle)
- Education of new pediatric oncology researchers
In addition to research to understand the biology of childhood cancers and discover leads to more effective treatments, topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Adolescents & young adults
- Survivorship, outcomes, and quality of life
- Supportive care
- Epidemiology and pediatric cancer predispositions
- Precision medicine
- Alternative & complementary therapies
St. Baldrick's funds may not be used for human embryonic stem cell research.

Auburn University and the Harrison School of Pharmacy will host the inaugural Center for Neuroscience Initiative Retreat, Feb. 28 at The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center.
Industry and academic professionals from the neuroscience field or those working with diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinsons, Tay-Sachs, PTSD, ADHD, and others are encouraged to attend this one-day retreat that will feature leaders in the field from around the country.
Along with speakers and poster presentations, the day will cap off with a banquet and awards presentation with featured speaker Walt Woltosz.

Planning to apply for a fellowship or career development award? If so, don’t forget your ORCID iD.
We encourage everybody from graduate students to senior scientists to
register for an ORCID account
and
link it to their eRA Commons personal profile
(see this

for a quick step-by-step). But for some grant applicants, it’s an absolute must. ORCID iDs are required for PD/PIs on individual fellowship and career development applications submitted for due dates on or after January 25, 2020. Our eRA systems will check the PD/PI eRA Commons IDs on all submitted fellowship and career development applications. If there isn’t a linked ORCID iD, an error will be generated preventing the application from moving forward to NIH for consideration. For more details, see the full

If you selected “Do not wish to provide” in the demographics section, please consider revising your selection. Request For Project Suggestions
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR), State Lands Division (SLD), Coastal Section is accepting project suggestions to be funded through the Alabama Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act Program.
The Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) was enacted by Congress in 2006 and significantly enhances Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) oil and gas leasing activities and revenue sharing in the Gulf of Mexico.
The GOMESA authorizes uses of the proceeds for the following purposes:
- Projects and activities for the purposes of coastal protection, including conservation, coastal restoration, hurricane protection, and infrastructure directly affected by coastal wetland losses;
- Mitigation of damage to fish, wildlife, or natural resources;
- Implementation of a federally approved marine, coastal, or comprehensive conservation management plan;
- Mitigation of the impact of outer Continental Shelf activities through the funding of onshore infrastructure projects;
- Planning assistance and the administrative costs of complying with this section.
The ADCNR is accepting project suggestions that meet the authorized uses listed above. Projects submitted to the Alabama Restoration Project Portal will also be considered for funding.

The Air Force Research Laboratory's Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) seeks to create revolutionary scientific breakthroughs that enable the Air Force and U.S. industry to produce world-class, militarily-significant and commercially-viable products. To accomplish this task, the organization solicits proposals for fundamental research through a mechanism called an open Broad Agency Announcement (BAA).
The BAA, FA9550-19-S-0003, Research Interests of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Department of Defense, invites unclassified proposals for fundamental research that do not contain proprietary information in many broad topic areas as outlined in the document.
