Message from Pinellas County Schools on Re-Opening Plan: With guidance from medical experts and community feedback, we have created the Pinellas County Schools ReOpening Plan. This plan includes three learning options for students for the 2020-2021 school year. Please review the options carefully with your family, determine which option is right for you and  make your decision online by 5:00 p.m. EST on July 27, 2020. In this newsletter, we are highlighting what we have done in the last session of our Sabbath Space and preparing us for our next months theme: Journey. This Summer has brought on a new set of challenges to families around the world. We are certainly learning a new level of patience with our loved ones. There are challenges being brought to us left and right. What can we do to help navigate these trying times? Belly Breaths: When you catch yourself just out of patience, do your best to lash out on your children. They are experiencing a new 'now' too and are learning to adjust. Step away and breathe. Think to yourself: Is my reaction going to make my problem bigger or smaller? Take a moment to evaluate the potential results of a choice in the moment. Our children know us better than we realize. They know what buttons to press. Take a moment to think, are they doing that thing again?

Religious Education Virtual Classes K-12th

Ms. Jeanay & Ms. Trish Classes from June - July Over the span of June and part of July, we will fill selected and created space with physical reminders of those important things that keeps our hearts going. Keeping these important things in front of us is especially important during this time of sickness, separation and uncertainty. It’s a reminder that even though we may be cut off from the people and activities we love, we remain spiritually connected to them all the time. This is what our Sabbath Space was about. Sabbath Space Weeks 1-5 Sabbath Space Week 1 Sabbath Space Week 2 Sabbath Space Week 3 Sabbath Space Week 4 Sabbath Space Week 5 The July 19, 2020 Virtual Sunday Worship Service of the Unitarian Universalist Church of St Petersburg , Florida featured Children's Religious Education members Jeanay Johnson and Ms. Trish, with Jaide, Amelia, and Olive. Music by UU St Pete Music Director Jon Arterton, Gmonji and UU St Pete member Annie Hall. This service was about 'What Gratitude Means To Us'.

Caring & Connected

"Helping Farmers Help the Hungry continues because farmers still need help and families are still hungry. With your donations I spent $342 this week for 974 lbs of fresh vegetables and fruit, and then brought it all to the Free Clinic, where cars were lined up, awaiting grace. No transportation, overhead or admin costs. Just one pickup truck with one driver and a dog. An enriching deal for all. I was delighted to receive another $50 check today. Wow! THANKS to all of you! You might not realize how many people you've helped. It's way more than you might imagine. There's a lot of gratitude which you'll never see, but I have, and it's heartfelt." "A total of $8,965 has been donated to HFHH at this point. 15,535 lbs (nearly 8 tons) of fresh produce has been bought directly from farmers and delivered directly to food aid organizations to help the hungry. HFHH has only $197 left. Farmers are still hurting and families affected by the Corona-19 virus are still hungry. My stimulus check and your donations have been very well used. Thank you. My wish is to continue this project. Donations are still very welcome. My truck and my dog are ready to go."

What We Offer Through the Lifespan

We provide children ,  youth ,  young adults ,  and adults an opportunity to explore, reflect, and learn in a nurturing spiritual community. Unitarian Universalist religious education programs offer all ages, inspiring: Ethical growth – internalizing enduring values like justice, equity, and compassion, and gaining tools to act on them in everyday life. Social growth – connecting with peers and people of all ages on a deeper level. Finding acceptance among people who see beyond the superficial. Spiritual growth – feeling a connection with the sacred within, among, and beyond us. Religious education programs include more than classes. Many programs incorporate social justice activities, worship opportunities, service trips, fellowship, and fun. Our religious educator and minister lead many of our congregations’ lifespan programs. Parents and other members of the congregation often lead them, too. Teaching can be a very fulfilling way to deepen one’s own faith. Children’s religious education programs are typically offered on Sunday mornings on Youtube. We invite you to explore these pages and contact Jeanay to get connected.
