Fall Open House - Sunday, Oct. 20
Save the date for our Fall Open House on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 12-2 p.m. Teachers, students, administrators, coaches and activities moderators will be on-hand to talk about the many opportunities available at Delone Catholic High School. Invite friends and family to visit our school and share in our wonderful community. For new students entering grades 10th, 11th or 12th, Delone Catholic now has an exciting Transfer Tuition Grant program coupled with a Refer-A-Friend incentive for current families. Homecoming Spirit Week 2019
Looking forward to a great #dchshoco2019. Make plans to support the Powder Puff Volleyball teams on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 12 p.m. in the Sheppard Gym and the Powder Puff Football teams at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and free for Delone Catholic HS students with student ID. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Monday, Sept. 30 -Pajama Day Wake up and roll in to school in your comfy sweats or pajama pants. You may wear sweatshirts, sweatpants, pajama pants, and onesies. Pajama pants must be appropriate. Normal dress down rules apply, except for clearly stated exceptions. No flip-flops; no yoga pants; no torn pants and shirts; no unnatural hair coloring or overly long hair; no overly revealing clothing; no excessive jewelry.

Tuesday, Oct. 1 - Tie Dye/Neon Day Light up the halls in neon colors or your groovy tie dye shirts. Normal dress down rules apply. No flip-flops; no pajamas; no yoga pants; no torn pants and shirts; no unnatural hair coloring or overly long hair; no overly revealing clothing; no excessive jewelry.

Wednesday, Oct. 2 - Group Day (Matchy Matchy Day) Dress like a friend, or two, or three! Groups may pair up or join a group to match with or dress like a well known group. Appropriate group characters from movies will be accepted. Normal dress down rules apply. No flip-flops; no pajamas; no yoga pants; no torn pants and shirts; no unnatural hair coloring or overly long hair; no overly revealing clothing; no excessive jewelry.

Thursday, Oct. 3 - Surfer vs Lumberjack Wear your flannel or your board shorts. No bathing suits, tank tops or overly revealing clothing. Normal dress down rules apply. No flip-flops; no pajamas; no yoga pants; no torn pants and shirts; no unnatural hair coloring or overly long hair; no excessive jewelry.

Friday, Oct. 4 - Class Color Day Your class color must be the dominant color. Jeans and sneakers are permitted. Hats, wigs, and bandanas are permitted but must be removed upon teacher request. Normal dress down day rules apply. No flip-flops; no pajamas; no yoga pants; no torn pants and shirts; no unnatural hair coloring or overly long hair; no overly revealing clothing; no excessive jewelry.

Employment Opportunity: Technology Education Teacher
Delone Catholic High School has an immediate opening for a full-time Technology Education Teacher.  Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in education or have related field experience.  Individuals with experience in Engineering and Drafting, Architectural Drawing, Electronics and Materials Technology are encouraged to apply. Preferred candidates would have Pennsylvania teaching certification, or in progress of certification, and have prior teaching experience. Candidates are expected to uphold the morals and values of the Catholic Church and Delone Catholic High School.

Homecoming Dance Information 
The Homecoming Dance is Sat., Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. The dresscode is semi-formal or casual and can be  reviewed here, with sketches. All students must turn in this   Dresscode Agreement, signed by their parents, in order to purchase tickets. All guests attending from outside Delone Catholic High School must sign the Dresscode Agreement and complete the  Guest Permission Form. The Dresscode Agreement has been distributed to all students in homeroom. 
 
The Agreement and guest forms are to be turned into the class moderators: Doctora Brown for seniors; Mr. Fournie for juniors;Mrs. Gadow for sophomores; and Mr. Staub for freshmen no later than Sept. 27.   No tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the dance. 

Squire Garden Flags for Sale (Benefits PTO)
The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is selling Squire garden flags as a fundraiser. These will be available for purchase during Back to School night and in the Squire Store. Show some Squire pride with the purchase of a garden flag. (Hardware not included).

Attention: Delone Catholic HS Alumni Band Members
All alumni of the Delone Catholic HS Band (marching or concert, any graduation year) are cordially invited to play in the bleachers with the current Marching Band at the upcoming homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019. Mr. Yealy can supply some drums and keyboards, but most alumni will need to bring their own instruments. Color Guard alumni and former instrumentalists who don't have access to an instrument are also invited to join us in the bleachers. All participants are asked to register online by Friday, Sept. 27 using this link

Playing participants are kindly asked to make a one-time $5 donation at the game to help the band purchase additional copies of the iconic "yellow books" for alumni to use. Alumni who participated in past years do NOT need to make another donation. If possible, participants should plan to meet at the west end of the home bleachers around 6 p.m. on Oct. 4. The 2019 DCHS Marching Band will hopefully have time to perform their field show around 6:35, following the pre-game homecoming crowning. Latecomers are welcome to join us any time that evening. We hope to see you there!

Alumni Cheerleaders are invited back to Delone Catholic HS to cheer for the 2019 Homecoming game on Oct. 4 when the Squires take on the Bermudian Springs Eagles! There will be practice on Saturday, Sept. 21 and 28 at DCHS at 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!!

We hope to welcome back Delone Catholic alumni for the following Homecoming weekend festivities.
 
Friday, Oct. 4 -- Alumni Tent and Tours of the school starting at 5:30 p.m. Meet at the Alumni Tent by the scoreboard by 5:30 p.m.  

Sunday, Oct. 6 -- Alumni Mass and Breakfast at Delone Catholic High School.  Mass will be at 10 a.m. in the Old Gym, followed immediately by breakfast in the cafeteria.  Call (717) 637-5969  ext. 211 or email to   [email protected] to signup for breakfast.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 4 to 10, and no charge for children under 4.

SportsLeader Virtue of the Week
One pillar of the SportsLeader program is a weekly virtue that we incorporate into our athletic practices and throughout our school community. Every week, we will share them here to encourage the students to take the virtue into their homes as well! 

This week our virtue theme is FOCUSEDThe strength to have a concentrated awareness and effort.  Being FOCUSED is so necessary for everything in life. We need to practice the virtue of FOCUS on this team, in school, in everything we do-fighting distraction every day!

Player/Parent Winter Sports Meeting
There will be a parent/player meeting for any students interested in participating in a winter sport on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

Junior High Wrestling Sign-ups
Boys in grades seventh, eighth and ninth are invited to sign-up for the Delone Catholic Junior High Wrestling program. No experience is required. Parent night and JH Wrestling Sign-up will be held in the Delone Catholic wrestling room on Oct, 24 at 6 p.m.
