These words were spoken by Pres. John Kennedy in June, 1963 during the horrific riots and protests in Birmingham, Alabama when the then Governor George Wallace refused to obey the desegregation laws in the state of Alabama. President Kennedy in this same speech stated that when one American’s rights have been violated, the rights of all Americans have been violated. You can go on Google and hear the actual speech which is so pertinent to our country today. It was a moral question during the civil rights movement of the 60’s as it is now as we literally see an exaggerated act of violence committed against George Floyd which caused his death.
