Anthem Blue Cross and Stanford Health Care (henceforth "Stanford"), have been engaged in negotiations for several months to reach reasonable contractual language and reimbursement rates that are beneficial to both organizations. Unfortunately, Anthem Blue Cross and Stanford were unable to reach agreement and the contract terminated effective September 1, 2019. The following entities are affected by this termination:  
 
Hospitals
  • Stanford Healthcare 
  • Lucile Packard Children's Hospital
Medical Groups (PPO only)
  • University Healthcare Alliance Medical Group
  • Lucile Packard Medical Group
  • Stanford Healthcare Medical Group

Medicare Part D notices are due before Oct. 15, 2019

Each year, Medicare Part D requires group health plan sponsors to disclose to individuals who are eligible for Medicare Part D and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) whether 
the health plan's  prescription drug coverage is creditable. Plan sponsors must  provide the annual disclosure notice to Medicare-eligible  individuals before Oct. 15, 2019-the start date of the  annual enrollment period for Medicare Part D.
