Aisha Elmquist, Ombudsman Specialist for Minnesota's Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care, will be defining the role and duties of this office as well common issues addressed.
Objectives:
The role and duties of the Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care ("OOLTC")
Common issues OOLTC handles and related laws and regulations
Consumers who can benefit from working with OOLTC
Speaker:
Aisha Elmquist is the Ombudsman Specialist for Minnesota's Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care. In this role, she focuses on policy issues affecting consumers who receive long-term care services. Prior to joining the Office, Aisha held a Borchard Fellowship in Law and Aging and represented older adults who had experienced discrimination. She was a litigation attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis, Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP, and Fox Rothschild LLP. She clerked for Chief Judge John R. Tunheim of the United States District Court, District of Minnesota. Aisha holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. from Carleton College.
