With the Fall semester fast approaching, our institutions are hard at work finding ways to safely return students to campus while keeping the spread of COVID-19 down.
In this digest, we have included updates on each institution's plans for the fall, as well as information on NCCEP's upcoming GEAR UP Summer School. Please see below for more information, and stay healthy!
Plans for Fall
As we get closer to the Fall semester, our NSHE institutions have been making plans for students to resume instruction while staying safe. Most institutions including UNR, UNLV, NSC, and WNC have implemented a mix of online and in person classes for students to attend, while others such as TMCC have opted for primarily online instruction. For more information on each institution's plans for reopening in the fall, please see the links below:
School districts across Nevada are also continuing to prepare for the school year by presenting their reopening plans to their school boards and submitting them to Nevada Department of Education. Please see the links below for more information on recent school board meetings and town halls of our school districts:
NCCEP's GEAR UP Summer School is a " 3-day professional development experience to learn, share, and help prepare for the new school year". From August 10th-12th, the online Summer School will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM PDT, with optional networking opportunities until 3:00 PM PDT. The event will include thought-provoking assemblies, informative breakout classes, and focused networking activities. You can connect with peers and experts in real-time, get answers to your burning questions, and virtually meet with other attendees.

On Monday, July 13th, during the 31st Special Legislative Session, the Nevada Assemby and Senate unanimously passed
Senate Bill 2. This vote will allow the Board of Regents to adopt temporary eligibility changes for The Millennium Scholarship. Check out

Annual NCCEP/GEAR UP Conference 2020
Unfortunately, although not unexpectedly, the NCCEP annual conference for 2020 has been cancelled. We look forward to the NCCEP Capacity Building Workshop this coming February in Phoenix!
