Growing in faith, serving with love
Order for Worship - Trinity Sunday
June 7, 2020
GATHER & PRAISE
When we gather to worship, we proclaim that Christ alone is Lord. When we gather to worship, we approach the Lord for healing, for guidance, and for strength. When we gather to worship, God meets us where we are and walks with us. When we gather to worship, not even death itself can stop us from experiencing New Life we are given in Jesus Christ. Let us worship God together! Lyrics for the hymn are provided in the description on the YouTube page.
CONFESS
Family, God’s Spirit gives us a constant source of mercy, comfort, and reconciliation. With confidence in the forgiveness that follows, let us confess to God where we have fallen short.

Pray aloud in unison with others who are gathered, both in body and spirit.
Lord, we hear the cries of those who suffer, yet cover our ears. We see brokenness manifested all around us, both individually and systemically, yet look the other way. We feel the pain of our brothers and sisters in a way that’s undeniable, yet ignore them when it matters.

Forgive us when we retreat to safety and comfort simply because we can. Give us the heart to understand the experiences of those who suffer, as well as the courage to do what we can to ease their pain. Guide us to build Christ’s Kingdom on earth so that everyone, regardless of race, gender, age, political party, wealth, or status, can come together and proclaim the peace you bring us. Lord, hear our prayer.

RECEIVE PEACE
Family, receive this Good News. Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we need not fear evil. God is with us and offers us forgiveness and peace. In Christ, we are reconciled and set free. Praise be to God!

SERMON SERIES
Promise Keeper: God’s Promises Found in Psalm 23
Psalm 23 is one of the most well-known and read passages in the Bible. It’s been a source of comfort and guidance for the church for thousands of years. As beautiful as it is to read, it also points us to many promises God gives us. As people who believe in the miracle of Easter, we know that Christ is the fruition of all God’s promises. For six weeks, we will walk through Psalm 23 to see how God’s promises known to us in Jesus Christ can help strengthen our faith, both in seasons of blessings and seasons of hardship.
